SideMinder is a dynamic stereo width maximizer that can increase (or decrease) the stereo width of a track, bus and/or master mix while automatically preventing over-widening and negative correlation that causes signal loss when mixed or played in mono.
SideMinder includes a stereo Width Enhancer section that ranges from mono up to 200% width enhancement, a Bass Mono control which gracefully reduces the stereo width below the selected cutoff frequency, a stereo Width Limiter that automatically limits the amount of stereo width and an output correlation meter that displays the output signal correlation.
SideMinder uses latency-compensated "lookahead" FIR correlation detectors that "listen to" the incoming stereo signal and precisely and rapidly turn down the width when it detects the signal is going into negative correlation. Additional stages of filtering control the recovery speed of the width limiting action which is adjustable via the Release control.
SideMinder can be used as an audio processing tool to automatically increase stereo width or it can be used as a visualization tool to help make better mix decisions.
SideMinder is a 64-bit plugin available as VST2, VST3 and AAX for PC and VST2, VST3, AU and AAX formats formats for Mac OS 10.7-10.15.
An introduction and demonstration video is available at the company website.
