CrossOver is a plug-in to split an incoming signal into several (at most 4) frequency ranges. It can be used to build your own multiband effects within a modular (sub)host environment. By using only 2 bands, you can also create bass-effects. These are effects which (counterintuitively) keep the low frequency range dry and affect only the high frequency range.
The band-splitting is done by complementary pairs of Linkwitz-Riley lowpass/highpass filters, the slope of which is adjustable between 12 and 96 dB/oct. For configurations with more than 2 output bands, the signal is first split into 2 bands (low and high) and then the low or high or both bands is/are split further, thus the splitting is done in a hierarchical manner.
I am using this plugin for multi-amplification in audio player.
I also use another crossover for this : Thuneau allocator.
I use Audio player "foobar2000" for web radio and "cplay" for CD with flac.
Fine surprise for this crossover. It works with no problem in many config.
With foobar2000, no problem the presets are load correctly.
With Cplay, impossible to start the program with my own preset. More, between two audio files the preset are reset to defaut.
I don't no toresolve this problem.
Salut
Does anyone know of a 64-bit crossover plugin? This one is exactly what I need except that it is 32-bit. Thanks in advance.
Freeware.
Payware.
My advice for really useful AND cheap:
Thank you. These look like good suggestions, including some from companies that I'm not familiar with. If I decide to spend money on this project, I will also consider Blue Cat's MB-7 Mixer.
Having looked at almost all of the plugins listed, it appears that the payware ones -- with one exception -- are multiband processors rather than splitters. In other words, they are stereo-in-to-stereo-out (or mono-in-to-mono-out, etc.). I'm looking for some with four (or more) pairs of outputs. The exception is HoRNet 3XOver, which is a two-way crossover (3 bands).
So far, the only thing I've found that is a 64-bit VST with four or more bands is Blue Cat MB-7 mixer.
I believe that Thuneau Allocator is 32-bit only.
