Riffage. Cannot change patterns in the Piano roll

Cannot change patterns in the piano roll. Any subsequent midi note does nothing. In other words can only play 1 pattern/riff in the whole of the piano roll any other notes added to trigger alternate patterns do nothing. Tried it in Reaper and FL studio. The new pattern is reflected in the Kontakt window but doesn't play, the first pattern continues to sound even though it shows new pattern selected in Kontakt window.

Worked it out. One needs a new trigger note in order to trigger a new pattern. Can't just use one long trigger note all the way through the song.
