Metal guitar tones from Strategy or Telematic?

Any advice on this? Lack of a humbucker pickup option apparently makes it difficult? But a noise gate and EQ can help?...

"Plug in your Strat, use the bridge position pickup, turn up to 10, activate distortion pedal (I specifically recommend the DigiTech Grunge for a Strat, arguably the best metal pedal for Strat single-coils), then go to your amp and turn the treble control all the way down.

After that, turn the bass control up to the point just before it starts to "boom." You'll know it when you hear it."

[To clarify: I'm using other plugins for distortion, amps, etc. A Stratocaster with standard single-coil pickups has the following issues when heavily distorted, as for metal:

"60 Cycle hum
Feedback
Thin and brittle tone
Exsessive treble
Over emphasized high-end frequencies.
No bass or bottom-end
Hum or Buzz"
