Opinions on SPL Twintube? For ten bucks, including discount code, it's quite tempting.

ok, totally going for the nvelope, it seems great!
I'm also looking at other things like "elysia Phil's Cascade" ... is that a legit (and great sounding) color box or a sort-of one knob marketing snizzle?

I demoed it yesterday. This is a very short time to evaluate, I know, but I was not impressed. For that same price, I can recommend Brainworx Masterdesk.

Phil's Cascade is great.. it has a certain sound, so a colour box.. not a box of colours.
But there is a lot of nuance in the controls which take while to get used to.. Grid and Bias especially. Very nice filter as well. Definite highlight for me. It's not great on the master which is where everyone probably is gonna try this first. That's the HG-2 (also on sale). On everything else though...

I got SpecOps for 9 bucks. I think I can spend a lot of time messing with this plugin. It feels like it has a lot of potential.

nvlope is one of the better transient shapers, but it uses a bit more juice. i own many transient plugins, i use them in serial to achieve different shapes. i mostly use them subtractively, or to sustain drum hits. they all have their merits.

Is the transient designer included in the SPL DrumXchanger basically the same as TD+?

I can't say 100% for sure, but according to my ears it does the same.cthonophonic wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:58 pm Is the transient designer included in the SPL DrumXchanger basically the same as TD+?
