OK- that's probably the best sequencer in any software synth right now....
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I am looking forward to the update when I get off work. I am still skeptical regarding the arpeggiator. If it cannot be used as a modulation source, then I think its a bit of a waste of a great idea IMO

Great update!

Love the D-50 patches.

Whilst I agree it would be a great as a modulation source it is still a great new free feature! If you want something like the Omni arp as a 32 step modulation device for any perameter (and I assume you would want more than 1!) you would need something like ‘zone’ VST (which I reccomend)

YES! I've got a practice tonight and usually hold off on installing new software updates until I have a week off from playing, but...I think I'll install it later tonight.

The second quote is easily the justification you seem to lack in the first

Agreed, I actually beta test for them, and I do enjoy Zone a lot. That is why I said what I said. More devs should consider using their Arps, or Sequencers as mod sources. I think it would help with those Dave Smith profiles in Omnisphere, as you could really take advantage of those sequences that you could pull off in a Dave Smith

That's cool. If only they had some filters that could even slightly do justice to the MS20 filters. Would be cool if they added some sallen-key filters.

I'll need to spend some proper time with the MS20iC config. I did notice that they've filled every single modulation slot - all 48 of them.

In D50 news, I notice there's actually only 15 sound sources of the presets, plus half a dozen waveforms. That said they're the 15 I remember! Pretty much all the famous stuff is there. Sounds as rich and silky as the real thing to my untrained ears, and one less reason to think about Roland Cloud. Speaking of which, the list of supported Roland synths now is pretty big:

Roland JD-XA
Roland JD-Xi
Roland JP-08
Roland JP-8000
Roland JU-06
Roland JUNO-106
Roland JX-03
Roland SE-02
Roland SH-01A
Roland SH-201
Roland D-50
Roland GAIA
Roland Super Jupiter
Roland System-1
Roland System-8
Roland VP-03

I know of course they are not full emulations, but its a helluva range for a single host.

For those who use Ableton Live, and want a perfect Dave Smith Pro 2 editor for free to use with Omnisphere.

If you look up other synths on the max4live site, there are lots of other functional editors as well that can really help to give you a bit more control over the hardware profiles. Especially for midi mapping to your controllers
