While we're at it, I've been trying to get the demo of Instant Phaser MKII from Eventide to install.
iLok shows it authorized ok... I was able to get it to laod in the latest version of Reaper but try as I might, I can't get it to install with Studio One version 4.1.2. I reinstalled with the dl from the Eventide site. I cleared the blacklisted plugs (there weren't any). I searched my drive but could not find the .dll
Any ideas.

I let Reaper build 16 midi channels, I load Classic bass, E-piano, and Pop kit, when I drag the instruments over, the Bass lands on ch[A]1, E-piano on ch[A]2, and Pop kit on ch[A]3+Groups. - With Kontakt track in Record disable (monitoring only) I then record arm midi 1 track and play my keyboard I get bass and drums play together, the same with thing with midi 2 track, piano and drums play together.....on my out now to the tool shed!EvilDragon wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 5:43 pm I assume you're talking about Kontakt Factory Selection library?
First, in instrument header, you will see a camera icon and (i) icon. If camera icon is focused, go to (i) icon and change MIDI input from omni to whatever MIDI channel you want.

Easy enough for anyone to test this, Intergratron did you get kontakt up and running?...do me a favor and do what I did, see what you get.rivrock wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:51 pmI let Reaper build 16 midi channels, I load Classic bass, E-piano, and Pop kit, when I drag the instruments over, the Bass lands on ch[A]1, E-piano on ch[A]2, and Pop kit on ch[A]3+Groups.

Apparently you want to record MIDI which goes to each instrument individually and you are getting, example given is both bass and drums in a Kontakt multi active from either MIDI track.
So, when you have a Kontakt multi populated with different instruments w. individual MIDI assignments, the multi itself must be Omni and the instruments correspond to a MIDI track assignation. I don't use reaper, so I don't know what's missing for you.
In Cubendo... easier to illustrate with a picture. The three horizontal blocks icon is illuminated meaning each of these is 'solo edit'; ie., you can't mess with the others unless you go and check them. (Deselected, that opens all parts to be selected simultaneously.)
The checkmarked part assigned, here:
and in a Kontakt multi:

There is nothing to test unless somehow reaper doesn't handle individual MIDI assignments.
No, there is something you are missing about the basic setup. I can't tell what.

Thanks jancivil,
Turns out it's a bug with K 6 player, K 6 player doesn't have a group editor which needs to be accessed to change the omni setting to default, which in turn gets rid of the +groups when selecting a midi channel. Workaround is to have a separate instance of K 6 for drums only.

Is K6 different from this?

Actually, no. There is no difference in behavior here between full and player. The difference between full and player here includes, yes, that you cannot get under the hood and access groups editing, but that is not where you determine a default handling behavior.
EDIT: I missed the boat here. You cannot "handle" the default behavior of those particular instruments with the Groups set to omni in Player, so this is the actual issue.
You can set a default for an .nki's opening in Options.
But, the 'default' behavior of a Multi {IE., following saving multiple .nkis in an instance as .nkm} is that this is essentially "Omni/All"; there is no other behavior. By definition.
I actually tested this. I have Kontakt [6] full which overrules Player, but I have an old computer where it isn't installed and fortunately more than one email for Native Access so I was able to look at Kontakt Player. The behavior here is exactly the same (absolutely no surprise) in both. In Kontakt Player I created a two instrument .nkm, channels 1 and 2, and they are independent of each other receiving control data. It looks like, it is, exactly what I'm depicting in Cubase 10.

No difference at all.
I tried to show this but that's more apt since reaper is a different look: the point illustrated there is that you are focused on the track you want to send data to. There, he is showing the tracks individually armed to record to illustrate <in focus>, where I do the focusing in the piano roll editor (with one button all MIDI parts in the editor are armed, independent focus is via Solo Edit mode).
But either way, I mean you can have both instruments armed and a global MIDI channel in your controller and Kontakt gets the message. If you have given the instruments independence by assigning channels, it just works. I doubt reaper is broken. If you believe there is an issue per se, you want to do your due diligence and see if it's replicated widely.

This is incorrect. K6 definitely does have instrument edit mode, but certain encoded Kontakt Player libraries have locked instrument editing functionality. Not the factory library, though, you can freely edit it.

That was absolutely not my experience with K6 Player just now. It never has been. I even checked before I made the statement that you can't edit groups in Player. I have the full Factory Library installed still on the older machine, nada, zip, bupkiss. That is of course from Kontakt 5 but afaict there is no new Kontakt 6 Factory Library.
The only time I ever actually used Player in a project was before I'd bought Kontakt 5 and my samples for Scarbee Pre-Bass went down with an HDD and NI replaced the thing via Kontakt 5, and I used this for a time. Nope. You get the two gears instead of the spanner icon and you do not get inside, it opens up Options instead.

Been ages since I used the player, actually. It could be that you can't edit any of the libraries, but I vaguely remember at least SOME could have been edited. Or it's just a wrong recollection, it can happen.
The tricky thing here is that to change the drums of factory library to only respond to a single MIDI channel you'd really need to go into instrument edit mode in order to disable individual MIDI inputs for all groups to follow the instrument's setting...

Yeah, that was like 2013 but I knew I couldn't do anything with that one. But I examined specifically, behind 'there is a bug... groups...'.
hmmmm... It does show in the MIDI channel eg., "1 plus groups" for such things, doesn't it. I never really thought about that. That's my only recollection of using Player, I bought Kontakt right before 1.5 was released. I have two S/Ns for it because I got a bad install disk initially.

But, I loaded those things, and another multi with two other things and it all responded according to plan.
So far, the drum ensembles from World [which feature the "... plus groups" assignment] have omni for all groups.
I don't have the Band installed on my real work machine.
