Thanks for considering such things, Colin. I have a bigger problem in that for the loop my listener is tracking, maps are great for insert or replace of time points, but there's also the condition of deletion. When the incoming stream changes through the disappearance of notes, how does one know to delete? At the moment, that doesn't seem like an issue solved by simple choice of data structure. ;-)

Another Friday beta is out. Architect 0.9.10 can be downloaded here.

- (new) Added new plug-in browser. Plug-ins can be searched, filtered, and sorted. Favourite plug-ins can be tagged. Plug-ins can be quickly added to the current track from the search window by pressing return.
- (fix) Allow import of MIDI files with things other than a lower-case .mid extension into the MIDI pool.
- (improvement) Moved the hosted plug-in program and bank options from the plug-in's UI window to the plug-in's properties. This change means that programs and banks can be loaded and saved without opening the UI, and also reduces the screen space taken up by plug-in windows.
- (fix) When exporting a macro or Lua script module, the fragment will take its description from the already specified module reference info field.
- (fix) Fix crashes and/or silent failures that could occur when exporting audio files, MIDI files, or fragments to invalid directories or with invalid names.
- (improvement) The default filename for an exported fragment will always be a legal filename.
- (fix) The vector equality (==) and inequality (!=) modules now accept empty arrays (and will produce an empty array in such a case.)
- (fix) Fix timing issues with MIDI input and plug-in automation that could occur when using large audio buffer sizes.
- (improvement) Misbehaving plug-ins that produce ridiculously loud output no longer causes the mixer's meters to seemingly freeze for a while.
- (fix: Windows) Windows applications are now uninstalled correctly
- (fix: Windows) When installed to a subfolder, that subfolder is now deleted on uninstall (if the folder is empty after Architect's own files are uninstalled.)

Awesome! Thanks! :tu:

Thought I'd best upload it whilst I still have power: we do not cope well with snow here in the south of England!

Great - totally forgot to test the plugin hosting for a while since I always run Architect as plugin in Bitwig - have to look at it again now :-)

Thank you!!!

Perhaps I'm blind, but is there an object that routes True/False without the need for a "control" value? In other words, a [branch] object that you can just have a "value" input, and it will split a True/False stream in two without further specification? I often find I have a stream of True/False values already, and just want them going to two different places, no need for further object wrassling.

The control value is your stream of True/False - just plug it in there and in the trigger input as well to make it do what you want?

That's exactly what I do too, Tom: just connect the object to both inlets of a branch.

Hey- Thanks to both of you for this. I think early on, when I was crashing around mostly with Architect, I tried this with no luck. Works a treat now though!

Oh, and since we are all wire-guys here: Yesterday I found an amazing visualisation tool:
https://cables.gl/
It runs in the browser, is node based and is very very well thought out, designed and documented, tons of videos and examples.
ATM it's in beta and you have to request a beta key to use it.

Why I mention it: In Architect I miss a way to visualise values a lot. Cables.gl is able to receive Midi from your system, so you can build a visualiser for whatever kind of data you have. I just got my key and will jump into it right away... :hyper:

Good times!!!

Tom

Thanks for the latest version.
Since i'm using it more and more to send SysEx to my external synths and samplers, would be great to have more GUI widgets.

1. A variable points envelope widget with value output for every point.
2. Dropdown menu where every custom entry can send a specific value.
3. Switches with fixed positions

thanks!

Post

Variable points envelope is on the roadmap: it's basically the automation curves in a module.

Could you clarify what you mean by the third item, "Switches with fixed positions"? Thanks.

When you import a MIDI file into the pool, where does it go? It seems it's written into the preset XML file. So the pool is local to the preset? If you share a preset, then the MIDI is automatically available to the sharee?

Hi Charles, I'm pretty sure the MIDI file in the MIDI pool is just linked to the original local file. You'd have to include the MIDI file if you share the preset and the recipient would need to "import" the file to the MIDI pool for it to work. I may be wrong.

EDIT: Looking at the XML file there is data there to suggest the MIDI file is included in the preset :?:

Hey Colin,

it would be great if the remap node would have a "Clamp" button in the inspector so we can simply remap something to 0-127 and don't have to worry that the output exceeds this - using a separate Clamp node feels messy in this case since it's such a common thing to do....

Thanks!!!!!!

Cheers,

Tom
