You probably don't know what you're talking about.

Ah - the old misunderstanding of patents. Patents are granted for a period of time, to ensure that the developer gets his return and profits. After that it's public domain. Think about it - these are rules that push the world forward. What if the original patent of an op-amp still applied? Or the transistor? Give it some thought... :)

Stealing music massively thru the internet makes many musicians poor and copying other peoples design then to the rescue. I see a pattern here - and it is ugly antisocial behaviour.

It seems more, you just want to be entertained somewhat ...
But ok ... the pattern is "disruptive" economy. But I won't write here a long paper about it.

By taking other peoples work, devaluate it and use it under certain neoliberal market constellations against them. No Spotify without Napster and Pirate Bay, for example. It is all about conquering markets from a different angle, no matter what the social costs may be.

What exactly is antisocial about the use of expired patents? In the same way that it allows people to access otherwise overly expensive medicines, Behringer is placing the otherwise overly expensive tech of yesteryear in ordinary peoples hands. I see this as the exact opposite of antisocial.

Post

maybe the neighbours of everyone who can now afford synths will see it as antisocial behaviour

there'll be people complaining to the police that behringer have allowed the poor to be noisey :hihi:
