hi guys i tested the 2 plugins and here my results:
Round 1 = test on drums
waves = sounds good but the transients are wishy washy
Uvi= sounds Fantastic on short settings very very good on transients stuff
Round 2 = test on vocals
waves= sounds good the plate C is the best from the 4 options the other plates like A,B,D
sounds to cold and here the word again wishy washy on transients
uvi= here again the short settings kill every reverb i here epic sound
it sounds thicker warmer richer fuller
Round 3= test on Bass
waves=on bass the plate A options is the best from the other , it adds more bass but colder tone to sometimes the bass loses the higher warmer frequencies
uvi= the short settings guys the short settings nailed it sound fantastic unbelievable
he transients and the bass sounds excited you want listen to it every minute you can
Result:
The clear winner is UVI Plate it sounds better than my Nimbus verb
The reverb is titled as PLATE but it can so much more small rooms
sounds brilliant on it ..even wider verbs sounds good and clear
But the Waves Plate sounds good, too but not good enough against uvi Plate
the Waves plugin does his job good on atmospheric stuff he adds his dark cold tone to anything
So in my opinion the two best Plate plugin you can get
UVI for pop, electronic even Rock = warm clear sounding
Waves for Drum and Bass and Atmospheric stuff = dark cold tone agaimst uvi Plate
So that was my short test
hope you like it

how much better UVI Plate is to Waves AR Plate? If it's more than 34.8% then i'm interested.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I did some measurements and it's only 27.3% better - but only on rainy days.

not if the price difference is as it is (keeping in mind Waves' constant sales of course). Waves Plate is 64% cheaper, so if UVI Plate is only 27.3% better than Waves Plate, then it's just over 0.42% of better per 1% price difference. in this competitive market, it's pretty insignificant amount - it needs to be at least 0.50% better per 1% of price difference, which translates to UVI needing to be 32% better than Waves Plate at the very least.
EDIT: fixed borked math

Couldn't find the great wave on a dish so best I've found:
It must exist out there although I will admit it makes more sense on a soup bowl or suimonowan rather than a plate.

i have tried the uvi plate and i was surprised by that how good it sounds
and belive me or not im not a fanboy or worked for uvi
against wave Plate the UVI plate sounds by far by faaarr better than the waves one
no joke is night and day
so If you are serious about producing music then you should go for it
it souns better than my alternative Reverb Arsenal
i share just my thoughts
