16th and final track from my upcoming CD "Still Out Of Sync"
With the completion of this track, I effectively end my pop music writing, at least for a while. I'm going to fully dive into doing library music and give it an honest effort before deciding what to do with the rest of my life.
But this will be my last song posted to this thread for a very long time, which is just as well. I'm sure folks have been tired of seeing this on the front page for the last year and a half.
It's been fun but it's time to move on. And thus, the final song is appropriately titled.
Riding Off Into The Sunset
42 years on the road
Not a drop of water in sight
42 years of a load
Nothing changes but day to night
Alright, alright, alright
42 years with the band
Haven't got a hit to our name
42 years digging sand
Sick and tired of playing this game
The fame, the fame, the fame
No more going down this road
Gotta find a new abode
Riding off into the sunset
Waving bye to destiny
Gotta try for new horizons
Gotta set myself free
42 years way too long
Something had to finally give
42 years the same song
Now it's time to finally live
To Live, to live, to live
No more going down this road
Gotta find a new abode
Repeat Chorus
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus
Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset

theres an old army saying "you only get flack when youre near the target".
people will try to pull you down when they see you getting along.
don't let the bastards grind you down

There was an episode of MASH where Hawkeye said "Don't let the bastard win."
I will never let the bastard win.

so, i don't really know the polices music, other than a few hits, so i listened to wags, not to a police tribute album. (although i did notice a few, especially drum fills here n there that did have a police feel)[and luckily you don't sing like sting ]
theres some really nice work in here, the guitars surprised me a little, if i didn't know, i could think a lot of it was actually played
particularly enjoyed who watches the watchers and girl under umbrella, cats out of the bag and years go by
not big on the autotune one, buts that autotune related, sorry
overall an enjoyable listen, at no point did i skip or feel like i wished it was over, in fact it seemed to pass quite quickly.
i did notice im not allowed to listen to supermom, which makes me think you must diss the queen! good lad

Thanks for the listen and the feedback Vurt. Curious that you were unable to listen to Super Mom. Wonder why that is?vurt wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2019 5:26 pm so, i don't really know the polices music, other than a few hits, so i listened to wags, not to a police tribute album. A cover of sfd's "Hold On" with some slight changes such as an additional pre chorus. Arrangement is totally different. Personally, I like it but eh, what do I know.
Let me know what you think.
Hold On
You better hold on when the day is gone
You better hold on even when the night it feels so long
You better hold on cause life goes on
You better hold on
Sometimes it's just too hard to understand
Til it's finally over my friends
Sometimes we need to fall a million times
Til we reach the top of the mountain
No one said it was easy
No one promised a thing
And all you can do is open your mouth and sing
Repeat Chorus
The time it flies right by no matter what
It never slows down my friend
Take time to breathe the air
But never stop until you reach the top of the mountain
No one said it was easy
No one promised a thing
And all you can do is open your mouth and sing
Repeat Chorus
Instrumental Break
No one said it was easy
No one promised a thing
And all you can do is open your mouth and sing
Repeat Chorus
