AB1818 Software

So, this is a stretch... and potentially a really stupid question:

For those who have a Qu4tro or T3io that came bundled with a Presonus Audiobox VSL 1818, would it be a rediculous thought to load in the mixing software in Windows .exe form and use that as the controlling GUI? This would solve many routing problems for me as well as increase the range of possibilities for an incredible live sound considering the DSP per channel capabilities and plugin adaptability. I do understand there could be trade-offs such as higher processing resources and bugs through translation with WINE and such.
To move this question forward, would this be done through Linux command scripting-- (those of you laughing coders with multiple script languages obviously see that I'm clueless here. Im just putting it out there.)
