Just tested the new MUnison for the first time live on video, and I'm pretty/very much impressed! Lot's of features, great sound quality, everything is possible from subtle/natural to alien/otherworldy - and this was just using a simple female vocal phrase from one of my libraries.

I know, it's sooo good right!?
Sound quality is amazing. It is way more versatile than I Initially thought it would be. It's good for mimicking double tracking. Subtle fattening of sounds and creating massive swarm sounds. Love the variation and shape controls, wish they were in MPS unison.

Instant space choir action - processing a single/monophonic Phonem synthesizer voice with Melda's MUnison plugin, some reverb on a Buss.

I fully agree, this plugin is out of this world!
I came across a lot of stuff in the last few days (since I was looking for something specific to add to my plugin arsenal), but nothing lit up my GAS as much as this one. I never used any kind of chorus or harmonizer, since I was never happy with any results of any plugin when trying. THIS thing though is SO sweet - typically MeldaProduction style! Open it up, choose a preset, dial in from there, and keep wondering how an effect like this can be so low on your CPU ...
I said it before, but here we go again: Thanks Vojtech, for constantly amazing the community over and over again
(And thank you Simon for constantly making these great videos)
P.S.: I used it on vocals (and mainly will in the future), but as you can see according to the videos it's great on other stuff as well

That first video is especially cool. However, I bought MMultiBandHarmonizer without even knowing about MUnison. Did I buy the wrong plugin? I find this huge number of similar Melda plugins with overlapping functionality quite frustrating. I wish Vojtech would enhance existing plugins instead of cranking out new, similar plugins every month.

Thank you folks!
Frantz: MMultiBandHarmonizer is simply different. And it's hear for years, while MUnison has been released yesterday . There's actually minimal overlap with our plugins, unlike most companies with gazillion eqs and compressors . Both MUnison and MMultiBandHarmonizer embrace pitch shifting, but quite different way really.

Could you please explain the difference in the pitch shifting algorithms of the two plugins or explain other significant differences. Thanks.

The algorithm is exactly the same. What is different is what these plugins do. In MMultiBandHarmonizer there are many things, but basically either you have a pitch shifted version of the original, or you can play what you want the plugin to sing via MIDI. One voice for each note. In MUnison the plugin always plays either unisono, changing the notes, or some note relative to the current note while being in the selected scale, hence "smart harmonizing".

Interesting, I didn't think the algorithms were the same. Can you add the spectral settings to harmonizer?

Very impresive but very cpu hungry... 2% in my reaper system OSX 10.9.5 ,14 gb ram at 88.2KHz sample rate and 1024 buffer.
Any chance to be cpu optimized?

vectorwarrior: That's what the different modes do.
ronaldsifontes: 2% doesn't really sound like much, especially on Macs. There is pretty much no room for optimization. It is as fast as it can get probably. It all depends on number of voices and spectral settings of course. If you create 50 voices, then don't be surprised .

I'm very interested too, anybody tried with full scale harmonizing (real major/minor scale with not only chromatic intervals)?
Thanks,
Mario

Awesome plugin! I must admit, I just bought mmultibandharmonizer and I wish I hadn't because this is what I was after all along. It's really brilliant!

Yeah, really cool sound!
Though the pitching isn't always perfect when harmonizing in scales. Listen to this example below, just played a saw through MUnison. It hits all the correct frequencies in the first example (middle octave). In the second example (lower octave), some chords sound really bad, especially the C-major one. Also the upper octave (last example) doesn's sound all in tune.

These are the settings I used:
