Monday is a bank holiday, quite right. However Matt from AMG and I will probably most likely spend it putting the final touches to the user manuals, installers, demos, websites etc. so you can all go buy it Tuesday

And there I was imagining you relaxing with a can or two of something inebriating, lying on the beach (okay, the weather might not be that good...).
Or glued to Big Brother...

Haven't watched Big Brother since series 2, load of old cobblers
Beach + cold tinny, now that's a combination. Sadly, north london is preciously short of beaches and so must crack on with these windows installers (all together now "I hate InstallShield!" )
Cheers

Is InnoSetup any better? I think that's what Rene uses. I know NSIS didn't impress me much.Muon Software Ltd wrote:Haven't watched Big Brother since series 2, load of old cobblers

Although I do software development as part of my job, I haven't had to mess with any of these so far (knock on wood).

I probably shouldn't grumble, its not as bad as all that
But I recently started getting into PackageMaker on OSX (free with the Developer Tools CD) and it struck me "why doesn't someone make a Windows tool as easy to use as this?!". I shall definately check out the Innosetup product you mentioned.
Cheers

By the way, it's free (as in GPL-ish).

Innosetup is great (and free), definately check that out. It seems like a lot of people use it.

I persevered in the end with Installshield (didn't fancy the idea of using an unfamiliar installer on such an important new product!).
So - the good news is that AMG ONE/solo is now shipping over at www.samples4.com , priced at $55. A downloadable demo will be available very shortly too.
Cheers!

AMG have priced it at 30GBP - you might get currency rate fluctuations on the dollar and euro prices, sorry.

The price isn't a big deal. $5!
I'm curious about your previous mention of Tachyon Player and Neutron and how this fits in. Did your plans change? I'd prefer an instrument with the name Muon on it rather than AMG, for no particular reason. Is that still going to happen?

Can't you just cover it with a post-it note or some gaffer tape?pough wrote:I'd prefer an instrument with the name Muon on it rather than AMG, for no particular reason. Is that still going to happen?

TachyonP and Neutron are very much active projects, definately still happening. Now that the Tachyon engine itself is more or less finished I'm hoping for rapid progress on these two products. TachyonP, for example, has already been for two rounds of beta testing and now we've decided to change some of the graphics to make it better. Neutron isn't quite at the state where it can be beta-tested just yet, the user interface is really quite complicated and has absorbed a lot of workI'm curious about your previous mention of Tachyon Player and Neutron and how this fits in. As for AMG, I think they're a great bunch and with 15 years experience in the business and their extensive library behind ONE and ONE/solo I'm looking forward to it really taking off!
Cheers

If it makes you feel better there's a Muon Tachyon logo on the splash screenCan't you just cover it with a post-it note or some gaffer tape?
