This is something odd :

I open a new TX16WX in Reaper with multi outs. I press the "toggle root key..." and the "velocity layers..." buttons. I then drop a group of samples using the Reaper media browser to be velocity layered on a single key.

Crash ! I tried this around five times and Reaper crashed everytime. No dump file or anything else.

Event log lists the faulting module as SHELL32.dll (path is windows\system32\SHELL32.dll).

Specs : Everything is 64 bit on Win 8.

Also, Calle please check your mail.

Actually not at all related to specifically dropping a velocity mapping, you just managed to provoke a crash from a DnD-bug in the beta. Great that you made me aware of it though. ;-)

Fixed, and new build uploaded. Also fixes a few drawing issues, esp. on Mac.

Thank you for that prompt solution !

Works fine now. I successfully did many such drag n drop to velocity layer operations without any issues .

However, there is a new crash / exception error when using the wave matrix view. I just defined a new matrix and it crashed. I checked twice and it happens when I rename a newly defined wave matrix. This time though I was able to get a memory dump :

You have a most excellent machine for provoking memory bugs. I've identified the problem. I'll try to have a fix ready soon. Thanks for the dump.

Your comment made me LOL at office.

:D

But seriously doctor, is there something wrong with my machine ?
I try to take care of it ...

New build uploaded with fix. Please verify.
And, no, I doubt there is anything in particular wrong with your computer. Just that the combination hardware/software makes it behave more susceptible to actually crash on certain sneaky errors.

Thank you !! Verified and working fine ...

Once, hats off to your coding skills sir :D

Everything worked fine.

Then I closed and re-opened the project, and voila, a new kind of error regarding wave matrices . It looks similar to the ones we saw before (attached).

Sorry to keep bothering you Calle, but you know I just started that new thing, and its imperative that everything goes smooth...

Thanx again for everything.

I'll send the tx16wx performance , program and matrix files tonite, as well as the event log details. There is no dump file created in this case.

The sample pack is here :

This is the MV Pack.

use the voucher "yamahafree". Its a smaller file than the usual behemoth sample sets I map, and a fast download.

Here are patches.(attached).

I think the error may have something to do with the MIDI CC assigned to the matrices (or the group switching).

I have used only MIDI CC 1,2 and 3.

New build with fix up. Also fixes the vel-mapping reported in the other thread.

Thank you sooo much for this super prompt fix.

I'll verify and report back tonite.

EDIT : Verified the velocity layering overlap and matrix crash. Both work fine. Fixed perfectly !

BUT this is my office machine (32 bit) Win Xp.

I will verify on my 64 bit / Win 8 studio machine (the one that loves tx16wx so much) tonite.

Confirmed ! Working great on the studion machine (64 bit) too !

Thanks again..
