Hi All,

Yesterday I was messing about with reggae style music and I needed to create a fingered precision bass kind of sound.

Anyway I have done a preset called P-BASS and it sounds OK to me and will save me having to plug in my bass guitar when sketching out songs.

The zip file contains:

1) The P-BASS preset
2) A demo musession
3) An MP3 of the musession so you can here it in a simple mix.

It works best at low volumes and lower down the keyboard.

[Jo]

If you like the preset please feel free to add it to M3.x.x in the ROM Bass section.

It was created using 3.1.32 as I did it yesterday before 3.2 had been released.

Awesome !

Got inspired by your demo track so I added a E-Piano :D
HOPE YOU DON"T MIND

Post

Of course I don't mind, I am very flattered.

Well done.

I still cannot believe how good the bass preset sounds myself.

Only goes to show how good the MU.LAB synths are.

Over the coming week I think I will work on some more presets of all kinds and upload them.

Bye for now!

Hi All,

I have done a small package of 6 presets (PRESETS1).

Package contains:

1) musession demo of the preset (just any notes that came to mind not songs etc.)
2) MP3 of the demo session just to hear them
3) 6 presets

[Jo]

As usual you decide if you want to add them to M3.x.x

Just in case you do these are the ROM categories I think they fit:

Popkorn - Leads
Micro - Bass
Altar - Pads
Wow - SFX
UFO Hover - SFX
Searching - Pads

[Everyone]

I am enjoying making these presets and learning more about preset design etc.

I will work on them in small packs and post them when done. This way I can do life's other stuff and do some presets when I have a spare moment or two and not get bored doing too many at one time.

I will add the packs to this same thread when they are ready.

Bye for now!

P.S done in M3.2.2

Nice presets OZ!

Included in the next package. Thanks for sharing!

I only tweaked the Wow preset a bit as i found the attack time too long.
So now it's in the Bass folder :)

Altar really is a great pad!

Hi Jo,

Feel free to adjust any preset you wish. I only have one pair of ears so you do the final quality control etc.

Indeed the "Altar" patch sounds something special I think it is FAB.

Agreed, P-bass is a great patch. I'll probably use this in a project where bass guitar doesn't fit at some point. Thanks!

Thanks for presets OZ.

Hi All,

You are all welcome.

One question, how do I change the title of this thread?

Hi Jo,

While I am working on more presets I some questions about how the WFT Oscillator works from a technical point of view.

a) Is all about the relationship between "Fatness, Detune and Spread".

Please can you explain in your own words how they work with each other?

I am particularly interested in what the "Fatness" actually does as I increase its number from 0 upwards.

"0" Fatness seems to mean one saw for example.

"1" Fatness - does this mean two saws and the detune works between them?

Detune works when Fatness is above "0"

Spread seems to handle stereo width.

b) "Pitch mod." - same again, how does that actually work from a technical point of view I cannot seem to get it to do much. How should I use this?

I am now creating multi-saw style synth presets and just want to make sure I am using each WFT Oscillator as efficiently as possible.
