I'm almost sure that this was already mentioned:
When I randomize the Decay, numerous times, the HOLD also changes and then the events become extremely short. Reseting the Decay doesn't help, I need to switch to Hold and reset it. Basicly the envelope is un-useful this way.
Thought you touched it on the beta.
I have 2 requests so far if it's possible to add:
- Some kind of sort by name in the file browser, so far it's sorted by modified date by default. I'm sorry if it's already there and I haven't noticed.
- Another mode switch on the Arranger which allows you to drag events and it swaps them between themselves. Instead of just replacing events when moving and having empty spaces left.
Cheers!

Ok, here's some more test results;
Fixed
BR 104 - Different Arrangement labels in different hosts
- it's the same now (using Reaper v2107 rather than v2105 though)
New
BR 106 - Slicer Tempo not updated when I select a loop in the Loops section
[beta 147 rc4.1]
- only when I load a new loop from the Browser
BR 107 - Transparency and dividers disappear
[beta 147 rc4.1]
- in some circumstances (I'm not sure exactly what), the Alpha transparency and vertical time markers disappear on the Arranger tracks.
- please see the screenshot (originally sent by email, as ImageShack did not seem to be working atm):
- Alpha transparency is set On
- there is a Rx2 loop in the Slicer
- I have added all its slices to Tracks 2 and 3 by clicking [Lock to Loop]
- then deleted one event in Track 3
==> Track 2 is the track showing the problem, Track 3 shows the expected view
- I get the same thing with .wav loops too.
BR Update:
BR 078 - Zoomed-in scroll speed
In the Slicer, when zoomed right-in, dragging the scroll bar to scroll is quick. But at lower zoom levels (e.g. so that a quarter of the loop is displayed), there is a noticeable delay when dragging the scroll bar
On further testing today, this problem only occurs when Alpha is set On, but I would think no "Alpha-transparency" calculation is needed as slices in the Slicer do not overlap.
==================
Edit
Here's the pic for BR107:
And the big version:

I'll try to explain how LS works.Trip- wrote:When I randomize the Decay, numerous times, the HOLD also changes and then the events become extremely short. Reseting the Decay doesn't help, I need to switch to Hold and reset it. Basicly the envelope is un-useful this way. Thought you touched it on the beta.
When Attack or Decay is increased:
Hold is calculated as 100% - Attack - Decay
But when Attack or Decay is decreased:
Hold is not recalculated
So, overall, Randomising Decay repeatedly will tend to push Hold down and, as you said, you need to select Hold and click [Reset] to reset those values. Or, if you're just experimenting with the AHD values, right-click [Reset] will reset all the parameters for the events on the track.
- odd, it loks to be alphabetic here (strictly it's in alphanumeric order)Trip- wrote:Some kind of sort by name in the file browser, so far it's sorted by modified date by default. I'm sorry if it's already there and I haven't noticed.
As you said dragging an event moves it and replaces the event that you drop it on. Swapping over two events could be useful here too.Trip- wrote:Another mode switch on the Arranger which allows you to drag events and it swaps them between themselves. A few more, I'm afraid, that I found while updating the Commands Guide:
BR 108 - Changing track lengths did not refresh all the tracks
[beta 147 rc 4.1]
- load some events into the Arranger
- change the number of bars or beats
==> the tracks are not refreshed until a new track is added (or you go to another Arrangement and back again).
On more testing, the track is refreshed automatically _only if_ [lock to Loop] is On.
BR 109 - Changing the TimeSig sets it to 1 step too high
[beta 147 rc 4.1]
- create a simple 2 bar Arranger track,
- change the TimeSig to 5/4
- select another Arrangment, then select the first one again
==> the TimeSig will be 6/4
- happens for all TimeSig "number of notes" settings.
BR 110 - Changing the TimeSig causes playback to use wrong events
[beta 147 rc 4.1]
- set up a simple 2 bar loop with an event on each 16th (8 events)
- change the Arrangement setting from 4/4 to 3/4 [NB see also BR 109]
- so only the first 6 events are visible on-screen
- click [Play] or trigger the Arrangment from your host
==> the 7th event (not on-screen) is played back when the 1st event is played (there may be some mixing of parameters from both events too)
BR 111 - Can only cycle [bars] through 1 to 4
[beta 147 rc 4.1]
In the slicer, you can change the number of bars between 0 and 16, but right-clicking the value only cycles through the values 1 to 4
It is similar for [beats]; these go from 2 to 7, then from 1 to 7 only, etc

I dunno man,
I was looking for a setting for this inside LiveSlice and nothing... Maybe it's a system setting, although i have it sorted by name there.
PS: I am talking about Folders sort, not files inside the folders.

just sent out an update, but I hadn't seen the latest reports, so Darkstar: don't bother verifying that last list of BR's yet.
It's still a great update though so check your emails

fixed darkstars Br 8,9 and 10.
about #11: the idea with the right click on values is to toggle between the most common values. [beats] have 32 possible values - that's a lot of right clicks IMO. I figured most of the time you'd be using loops with 1-4 bars and perhaps then add some beats if the loops is not a full bar... any thoughts?
edit: I fixed the right-click so, if the value is set to 0 and you right click, it's correctly set to 1 ( and not 2 ). Personally I'd like to keep a limited set of values for the right click, but I'm, as always, open to suggestions.

- current beta has rex import, resizable file browser, faster interface, better stability and a lot moreOptomadic wrote:Oh ok I still have the demo (sorry kinda new to LS).. Few questions.
- What does the beta have that the actual retail version doesnt?
- Is MIDI out going to be implemented in 1.47? If not when?
- How much for upgrades?
Thanks
- midi export is for 1.48, along with mp3 import and more
- upgrades are free
