Free samples, sample-players, and where to find them

By the way, for those of you who've also bought SoundWare's Octane and get frustrated because it keeps crashing: The installer creates a "sounds" folder which contains sfz files and samples, so you can use those sounds with any sfz-compatible player.
But you have to use a wv to wav converter to convert the samples to the right format and right file extension. I used https://www.skyshape.com/lossless_audio_converter.html which has a fully functional 14-day trial version.
Of course the sfz files won't contain the layering and settings (envelopes, reverb, etc.) like the Octane presets do, but still, it's a starting point. You get around 1000 playable sounds, if you have Octane Complete.
