Should I have any hope of hearing an M42/51FX plugin in the future?

Soon after M42 came out there some talk about it, but there seemed to be some problem (Synthedit?) with it.

True, the new M42 imports soundfonts (SF2) which amounts to almost the same thing, but I am tired of building SF2s - it takes almost forever ...

Just dreaming ...

well...we are building it from scratch as there were some issues..but WE ARE WORKING ON IT!!

Can someone explain to me why FX versions are so good or what is their primary advantage?

My main use would be to replace the sf2 oscillator. I could then use ANY sound source, which for me would be a stack of other synths.

I noticed the M51 is more advanced than the M42 and I would hope the FX version would at least have M51 capabilities.

I am sure there would be lots of other uses for the FX too.

Unfortunately, it seems effects are not as profitable as synths.

Anyway, I'm still dreaming.
