Are you able to put some panels on the wall to try and get rid of some of that boomy-ness?

I don't think panels could fix still significant noise level coming from the mic itself.
Also, this is only a temporary place not worth the investment. I'm a digital nomad.

Mic noise is not the problem. And panels can be both cheap, and temporarily hungDJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 6:06 pm I don't think panels could fix still significant noise level coming from the mic itself.

You already have a pretty deep voice and a very strong accent. The boom and reflections make it a lot worse. If you aren't prepared to do any of that, then at least spend some time eq'ing out the trouble frequencies

I wouldn't consider 500 euro from the video "cheap". But anyway might look into it, if there are some easy ways to handle that. I've got plenty of place to hang "something" that will dampen reflections, at least. And panels can be both cheap, and temporarily hung
BTW, what do you think about mic isolation shield?
It is all EQ'ed of course as much as I could, and surely sounds much better than what I started with. You already have a pretty deep voice (...) then at least spend some time eq'ing out the trouble frequencies

You can get them on Amazon, and they're pretty cheap. Just keep an eye on the measurements. They seem to come in packs that measure 30cm x 30 cm x 2.5.DJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 6:50 pmI wouldn't consider 500 euro from the video "cheap". Also consider that your voice is not a drum, and your room is much smaller. I would imagine you'd get away with fewer pieces. Here are some tips for installing, though I'd probably research a little more about ideal placement:

A good way of protecting the panels

Probably useless for most people, and definitely for your use-case:

I seem to be able to improve it with some very quick cuts. If I took more time, I'm sure I could get it even betterDJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 6:50 pm It is all EQ'ed of course as much as I could, and surely sounds much better than what I started with.

^That was very helpful. I think I'm going to actually try what the kid did next week. Already found some cheap foam available, and it's larger relative to price than I expected.

Great stuff! I think it'll make a lot of difference. But one other thing to consider is moving your microphone closer to your mouth. That way you'll eliminate more of the chance of reflections, going in, and also allow you to reduce the input gain of the mic, which in turn will also give you more control over the noise and boomDJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 8:57 pm ^That was very helpful. Using an adjustable desk stand would be ideal, in your case. Something like this, that also comes with a pop-tart :

I actually have one, but it's not comfortable to mount it any closer to my face.
Also, the mic is pointing a bit towards the floor

What do you mean when you say "not comfortable"? For you or the mount?DJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 2:35 pm I actually have one, but it's not comfortable to mount it any closer to my face.

In your case, if you were to attach the mount it to the side of the desk, then you could get it much closer without it completely obstructing the screen.

Sorry, but just on previous page guy suggested to do exactly the opposite:

Neither. The stand is not supposed to work in this shape. Also, the it is going to obstruct the view (cable, pop filter). Maybe I could rotate the mic upside-down so no other elements come closerWhat do you mean when you say "not comfortable"? For you or the mount?

I didn't say the mic should be off to the side, I said the arm could be attached to the side of the desk. Whichever way you mount it, the mic should be in front of your mouth. By having it come from the side, the screen won't be obstructed by the arm. How you have it now, any adjustment to bring the microphone closer will result in the arm completely getting in the way of the screen.DJ Warmonger wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 3:18 pm Sorry, but just on previous page guy suggested to do exactly the opposite:
