I have never experienced that with Ableton Live, just for your info.Kalonai wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 8:58 am So I just demoed this plugin, and there's an issue that I've seen other people also have even months ago. When you play around with the parameters, after a little while, they stop doing anything. If I then copy/paste the plugin with the exact same settings, I can suddenly hear the changes. But then after a while, same issue happends.
I've tried both in FL Studio and Studio One, with nothing but an audio file and the plugin.
How is this still not fixed? I wanted to buy this, but it's completely useless if I cant rely on what it's doing.

yeah me too - also subs, it's too lazy on subs.gondii wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:27 amHez wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 2:29 pm Yeah, agreed on the bright thing. I've personally found that I need brighten at around -40% on my own tunes to end up with my preferred spectral balance (or rather to keep the output spectrum more or less consistent with the input spectrum) and just allow Gullfoss to deal with resonance and smoothen things out.
I tend to filter out the very high frequencies with Gullfoss almost by default. It appears that it doesn't even matter what material you are using it on, there is always this sharp bump from 13-15k.
so 100-10000hz, tame 10-35%, bias 50-100% (bias affects boost to cut preference which also helps with high end)
lately i've been using TEOTE more it's less surgical but i find it more transparent for general balancing.

Well I just now tried in Ableton Live also, and I can reproduce the same thing.adl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:31 amI have never experienced that with Ableton Live, just for your info.Kalonai wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 8:58 am So I just demoed this plugin, and there's an issue that I've seen other people also have even months ago. This happens if I play around with all the parameters at extreme settings, going up and down. At some point, the changes are subtle, and if I then duplicate the plugin, there's a huge difference between the two.
I'm still not sure what triggers it, but this is a strange behavior.
This is using the latest 1.8 trial version. Now tested in 3 different DAWs.
Here's another guy with the same issue months ago:

I have only started using Gullfoss this year, so I've been a bit apprehensive of trying out TEOTE as I really wasn't looking for a replacement this soon - and I still really like Gullfoss. Do you feel it's TEOTE is going to replace Gullfoss for you, or is it more of a welcome addition?
Have you raised this with support?

I have not. I only just tested this plugin today and found this issue.
But the guy in the thread that I posted (viewtopic.php?t=550876) said this:
So they are aware of the issue (and this is from august!), but it seems like they can't or won't fix it. Sadly.Okay, I reached SoundTheory as soon as I wrote this, gave them all the specs needed and they replied that they don't know what is actually going wrong, so they offered me a refund with my receipt, to which i sadly had to say yes. I also recorded the screen with asio so they could know i was no joking haha
The fact that this behavior can randomly trigger while you might not even notice it, makes it extremely unreliable.

i'm still in honey-moon phase with TEOTE so it's hard for me to assess.gondii wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 11:57 am

Recently i've definitely been using TEOTE more than Gullfoss, but i've had less problematic material to begin with so I didn't need anything too aggressive to work with.
TEOTE certainly sounds like it can handle transients better than Gullfoss, but it's not as precise at knocking out resonances even at 64 bands, and at 64 bands it becomes more CPU intensive than Gullfoss.
On the buses tho, it's all but replaced gullfoss - single tracks i still go with either.

oh i did last year because i what i wanted to buy ended up being almost the price of premium
i also had a "flash sale" random discount in my acc just at that time, i got 3 or 4 plugs since them for free because of it
(two of them absolute favs: Powershaper and Teote)
