The music was well done throughout that movie. It captured the mood perfectly.
In fact, as I recall, the Thomas Crown Affair was pretty much ALL mood.

Perhaps not the most beautiful, but one of the most memorable theme music is by Anton Karas in the Graham Greene based The Third Man.
The sound of zither fits perfectly to the background of dark streets of the allied-occupied, post-war Vienna.
The main "Harry Lime Theme", playfulnes of both the theme and Orson Welles, creates a creepy counterpoint to the grim reality of the story, the game of the stolen and diluted penicillin and dying chikdren.
Here is the afterplay of the movie, one of the most beautiful scenes, where Anna walks by the Holly, accompanied again by Karas

My favourite Morricone theme by far was the one he did for 'Days of Heaven' - so beautiful

Any theme without live orchestration and just guitar, bass, drums and keyboards or synths only.
Eye Of The Tiger
Crockett’s Theme
Miami Vice Theme
Midnight Express Music by Giorgio Moroder
Blade Runner theme
Lots of Asian movie themes from the 80’s and 90’s with synth scores. I prefer synth scores to Orchestra because it sounds better.

Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

The first soundtrack to a film I ever bought was - A Clockwork Orange.
I think it was Wendy Carlos that did all that with mono synths, recording each orchestral part track by track - quite a job.
The part I'm thinking of is made by Purcell as music for a funeral.
