What guitar gear have you bought/are you buying/will you buy?

Bought a Duo-Sonic HS on sale at adorama couple weeks ago. It's got a cheap feel, very easy to bend the neck, I'll probably snap it some day. Makes for fun playing though, maybe a bit my bloody valentine. Had to redo wiring on the switch and will probably replace the tuners eventually, the saddles too but I kind of like where the sustain is at. I really like the sound, the humbucker split is well done, and the sound extends to places my start won't go. All in all a good $280 with minimal work.

I think I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a crap little practice amp like come in starter packs...next time I see one online for under 30 bux (which I do often in the fb marketplace here) I'm gonna grab it. I'm gonna bring the hello kitty guitar to work sometimes for the kids to "earn"...they get earn time and what they can do depends on their behavior...we have an acoustic that another staff member brings (a 5 dollar yardsale special)

Nice to hear, first time I've come across that model.
Regarding the coil split, I wonder if it's a partial split like some PRS guitars, these have a resistor between ground.
Values can vary, installing a trimpot to test/use could be an option, others have mentioned using a resistor the 3rd of the pickup's output as a starting point.

I did. Two Seagulls, Gertrude and Heathcliff. Couldn't stand the headstock after a while, the S12 smelled like freshly sawn timber, not in a good way. The other, Heathcliff, I sold because it just sounded tinny to my ears. My fave guitars from Godin were Normans.

I'm sorry I can barely remember my own guitars, memorizing other's would short circuit something...I'd probably spend a month searching my house for one of your guitars

I sold Seagulls at two different stores, I know what you mean about the smell but that's the cedar. When I was at ft hood in Texas cedars were everywhere, the medic actually explained to me after complaining about headaches when we were in the field that cedar messes with some people's sinuses, I know I cant stand a cedar closet.

I think some of the seagulls sounded great and I liked the necks a lot, in this area at that time it was by far the best value for a new solid top imo, especially with the exchange rate then between canada and the u.s. I could make more money selling seagulls then martin or taylors, the latter were awesome for getting my sales total up to make my draw but the PM on the seagulls was fantastic (once I made my draw commission % was based on PM, do you want fries with that).

You're far more of an acoustic player than I am so it's more critical to you, my acoustic will likely get far more lost in a mix. I am hoping to stumble on a Daion acoustic used in a pawn shop or in classifieds because very few people really knows what they are, but I wouldn't be surprised if one day I pick up a seagull, without electronics.
