Lempface, "Hybrid 3 is probably the worst sounding synth I've had the displeasure to use." is one of the silllest things I've read on this forum in a long time. I question your hearing (or lack thereof)...Teksonik wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 12:04 pmYou can't question someone's opinion. I like the sound of Hybrid 3. I've used it in projects and have done a bunch of patches for it that I find quite pleasing.Lempface wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 4:57 pmI'm gonna have to go ahead and question you on this. Hybrid 3 is probably the worst sounding synth I've had the displeasure to use. Funnily enough, every preset has this "air" about it that just sounds like some really harsh white noise in the high range. Thought it was maybe just the preset designer but after spending a few hours with it ugh... What you call unapologetically digital I call terrible. I don't mind "digital" sound synths at all, but the thing is just putrid.Teksonik wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:24 pm We'll have to agree to disagree then. Air's Wavetable synth Hybrid 3 just blows Union away in terms of sound quality in my opinion and of course feature set although Union's generate WT is nice. Hybrid is as far from bland as you can get in my opinion. Crisp and unapologetically digital sounding in a world that is pathologically obsessed with Analog.
I'd honestly be interested to hear it in a context from someone who enjoys it though, so if you've used it in a production and wouldn't mind to share I'd love to hear it.
Here's a few from a year ago....

We all have different tastes we all make different music and we all like different sounds.
I simply gave my opinion on this statement:
In my opinion Hybrid simply blows away the sound of Union....Sinisterbr wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:04 pm Sound wise it's light years ahead of Air synths, I can say that!
(as do Xpand!2 and Loom since they are also Air Synths)
But I like Union and will probably pick it up at some point since there are hints by someone I'm not sure is even connected to the project of future updates.

I just got it, and I am pleased. As I have Bitwig as my host, the lack of velocity or other modsources doesn‘t bother me at all, I tend to prefer the Bitwig mod sources assigned to whatever automatable parameter easier anyway.
So my biggest wish (as always) is support for MPE.
What I like with any synth is not the feature list, but how does it inspire me, how easy is it into actually creating sounds. The head start was simply smooth and nice. I needed some time to figure out how to zoom in the envelopes and such, but as soon you know how it works, I get into a flow of tweaking sounds. I do not mind some of the limitations. Of course I would not call the 3rd oscillator a wavetable, but who cares, I have other synths to cover that...
Congratulations, its a bit like a birthday present according to its price. Certainly worth more than I paid, but I might not have looked at it at all, if not for that price...
Conclusion: Thanks a lot...!

Playing and having fun, but one thing is strange, it acts like a paraphonic synth! Choose one of the slow evolving pads which have a slowly opening filter in the beginning. Now hold some low notes, and play higher notes. The envelope is retriggered for the low notes as well... I am not sure if this is intended or a setting which can be changed...

If I remember well (I'm not at home right now) they are not real envelopes, but LFOs. So, maybe the LFO is set to retrigger.Tj Shredder wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 4:15 pm Playing and having fun, but one thing is strange, it acts like a paraphonic synth! Ok, reading the manual reveals how these sounds which act like a paraphonic synth work. For example the pad sound called "PFFT" is made like this: The main filter I hear is the FX Filter, and the envelope I hear is the fx LFO 1... The LFO seems to be retriggered with each key stroke.
Paraphonic is fun, and if you use instead the filters of each oscillator it works polyphonic as expected...
Would be cool to have a one shot option in those LFOs, then it would act like an envelope...

This synth has some clever (yet simple) and innovative ideas, it just have to keep being improved. Let's see if this really happens.Tj Shredder wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 5:00 pm Ok, reading the manual reveals how these sounds which act like a paraphonic synth work. The manual is talking about unlimited nodes for the fx LFOs. Does somebody know how? The manual does not explain it at all, just mentions "unlimited"...
I would like to see arrows on top of the oscillator page which would allow to jump directly to the other oscillator pages < Oscillator 1 >

Exactly the way I look at it. I picked it up - I can amuse myself with it for several hours. Cheaper than many forms of entertainment out there.

Who designed this thing? Wouldnt waste 5$ on this
Also, you may like to take advantage of the low price before you have to pay the full price when updates begin to roll out?.
This will not be abandonware, there will be added controls and features over time.
Maybe i didn't see it because of the dark gui Lol.
A buddy of mine wants to check it out to , so
