All of those synths will be fine for leads, pads etc. Even Dune 2 :). Just go at it, you have more than enough options to make "proper" any-trance. You have Omnisphere 2 right? Don't need anything besides that either. From your site you seem to be pretty adept at synthesis so any of the synths you have will work fine. Sometimes I use the same synth for layering and in some cases I mix synths within the same layered sample. Make sure you have a really good kick + (b)BB (your triple 1/16 bass notes) and you are 50% there :).

You sure about that? :)
...it wouldn't be my synth of choise for leads...

Btw Wags, this track I made only using Waldorf Rocket.. So basically it doesn't really matter (IMO) what synth you use.

The first thing I'm going to do after listening to all this music is go to Youtube and find a tutorial on how to layer a kick for Trance. If I don't get that part right, the rest of it won't matter.

You are already thinking the right way for making a trance track.

If I can do something that sounds that good, I'll be pleased.

Well, actually I once made a psytrance track entirely of Dune2 (except drums). Not saying it's the best one can do with Dune, but it's an actual example, sort of

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Hm.. Got your point.. Noticed that bandpass filters miss something.

Nothing kills a production more than being under the influence of anything :). Wait till the next day and listen again....not so awesome anymore :hyper: Even 2 beers or so make my kickdrum sound like crap the next day. You need your hearing to be substance free.

Also, to get full picture, you need to check tech trance, too. It is actually popular in clubs, unlike melodic :P

I'm sure among the hundreds of tracks I'll be listening to I'll be getting to this as well.
