I do not recommend because:
- Liquid metal destroy aluminum like acid.
- It is conductive
- It also react with copper and need some tricks

What happens to the various C++ redist installs that seem to get installed with every other plugin?Pictus wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 8:51 pm
- Install the latest Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable

You make your own noise by loudly complaining that the latest OS update has broken all your plugins.
I used to have a G5 that I called "the Blow Dryer," as it's fans were so insanely loud. No idea what a Mac Pro sounds like. I'm not silly enough to drop $7K to find out. No other Apple computer is interesting to me, because without a PCIe slot, I've got no use for them.

I'm on Win 11, and am not 100% sure I only installed my AMD Radeon's driver and not the bloatware. If the "Apps > Installed apps" has "AMD Software" as 89.8 MB, and I don't see any Radeon bullshit in my system tray, does that mean it's just the bare-bones drivers and no bloatware?
A well-behaved signature.

Switched to Mac Studio after 30 years of Windows. It's nice and works well. Too expensive for what it is but I'm quite satisfied with it so far.
I went for 1tb/64gb setup but really did it because my 7 year old PC started to act up and I didn't want to even think about processors, cooling...
But I could def build more powerful machine for less money if I went the PC route again.

So what? You still make it the same way - synths, samples and effects. You might use different synths, samples and effects but you do it all pretty much the same way in the end - a bunch of tracks running through a mixer into a master output channel.
You can but you don't have to. It's a choice you make. I can't think of the last time I side-chained anything, beyond using reverbs and delays with built-in sidechaining. It's not something I ever need, although I'm sure there are plenty of people working in our genre who use it all the time, just as I am sure there are people making pop who use it on everything and people working in those "modern genres" who never use it at all.For example, in pop, you use sidechain effects only when you are mixing, to unmask a voice, subtle compression or whatever equivalent.
In some modern genre, you can have 5 side chaining on a sound, for example to trigger a ring modulation when the snare kick in.... or create a resonnant filter or whatever other stuff you can imagine.
You were probably only using it for music, I use my computers for far more intensive work.Funny I was having the Surface Pro 4 and didn't had temperature issue.
Then maybe it is only gaming laptop....

My PC died. Didn't want to think about processors, cooling...
But no, not really. Just wanted to try if the grass is really greener on the other side
So far I've only done one simple project on it (recording some stuff for an interactive museum show). I don't like it any more or less than my previous machine.
But it works fine, looks lively, takes less space (mac studio).
The change also got me to think what plugins I really need and use. I was a hoarder, sold quite a few after the change.
But I'm not kidding myself, hoarding might come in vogue again
