Maybe some will be interested...

A new Fairlight CMI emulation just released these last days:
Wavelight VMI - SuperWave

£24.99 / €28 (+VAT=€34) / $32
And with a discount for all those who already have a registered plugin.

I purchased it yesterday night.

I don't know if it will be considered as an "accurate" emulation for professional producers, but for me who's just an amateur it is very good and I enjoy it.

As far as i know, both are of a different conception, poly-800 uses DCO digital controlled oscillators, but it's not the case of the poly-61
Polysix is VCO (on a chip)
Poly-61 is DCO, but a very good DCO
Poly-800 is DCO and paraphonic - all voices share one filter

I haven't tried the Polysix soft synth as I don't have the Legacy Collection. Poly-61 was more about the joystick and arpeggiator than the sound imo.

Doesn‘t look like its an emulation. Emulations are only partially about the sound (sample are more perfect in that regard mostly). Its about how to create and control/sculpt the sound...
This seems to be a rompler with a vintage ui...

well ...indeed the filter was monophonic with its own envelope, but it had polyphonic volume envelopes (2 osc with 4 voices / 1 osc with 8 voices)

I'd like to see some of the earliest electronic instruments emulated (not sampled) with all the various idiosyncrasies of the originals, such as the speaker system of the Ondes Martenot.

I am a fan of AIR's VacuumPro sound. Does anyone know if it is based on anything?

The speaker system of the Ondes Martenot is covered via impulse response in that instrument:

It is a sample based Kontakt instrument though. In this case not such a drawback, as the sound of it is pretty basic, more important is the controller you use to play it.
I imagine also a virtual Trautonium, should be fun to play with a LinnStrument and can‘t be too hard to implement...

I'd like to see the 1950s additive tube-oscillator organs modeled. There's a sample library of a Philips one, and there's Air Vacuum Pro as a subtractive monosynth, but there's no modeled Allen or Baldwin organ of the additive tube-based era.

You're right.

I know several sampled models, but none emulated by synthesis except the one you mentioned, Air Vacuum Pro.

Here are the sampled models that I know (and have), they are very original and really nice to play with:

Five wonderful instruments that I dream of in software emulation using real synthesis are these five organs:

https://soundcloud.com/precisionsoundwa ... mighty-u90
In the last track the organ comes at the beginning of the second half.

https://soundcloud.com/precisionsoundwa ... e-deluxe-1

(Ace Tone was the former name of... Roland)

https://soundcloud.com/precisionsoundware/sets/ace-3000

Precisionsound | Eminent 275 (Eminent Solina P275 Series 9)
(released in 1985 it was a hugely improved organ designed started from the famous 310U released ten years before, and the 275 was still 100% analog!)

But my preferred over all, is this one :

Precisionsound | D-85 (Yamaha Electone D85)

https://soundcloud.com/precisionsoundware/sets/d-85

These other tracks are also made with the sounds from the D85:

Watch this demo from Stephen Izera:

Or this crazy cool cover of Oxygene 1 (a bit slower than the original but wonderful sounds):

Or this other crazy cover of Magnetic Fields V from Giovanni Amelotti:

There are many demos of the D85 on Youtube.

A much simpler instrument but actually famous (played during years by Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, and many other Krautrock musicians), and it was my first purchase of a keyboard in 1977 (I got it second hand in perfect condition) and although which has NEVER been emulated :x !: the Farfisa Syntorchestra.
