Yep, I see it there when I click Buy now.
Then it lets you add Synthx for free to the cart.

$169 to go from V Collection 8 to vX and SynthX is included.

IIRC that upgrade (without Synthx) was $99 recently.

Of course it's a good deal but I am drowning in synths. If they lowered it even more on Black Friday I'd probably cave. Every synth-head has their limits.

Other than comments on pricing - has anyone tried it yet? Any good?

The Synthex was never one of the big polys of the time I was particularly interested in, athough it was held in quite high regard...

I'm with you. The Synthex was never too high on my list either (though I don't seem to mind "Italo Disco" synth music). But the Cherry Audio emulation didn't do much for me, either. Then again, I don't know how accurate theirs was.

This one's a little different from the way Arturia usually does it, in that you have to provide your email address to them to be able to download the file. It doesn't otherwise appear in the Arturia Service Center. But I should have it installed in about 5 minutes, and will see how much fun it is then.

UPDATE: The first preset ("Pulse Width Pad") is very nice, but this thing is a CPU hog. Hope Arturia optimizes it soon.

Check for *Bloom* under pads. Disable the flanger and the ps-delay. Play some chords over 2 octaves. Now raise the mod-wheel and play staccato. Lovely!
Lovely indeed, and the arpeggiator has a MIDI out, same as with their other recent releases.

It does? Awesome! That alone makes this plugin way more valuable. :tu:

I tried the demo version. I have zero experience with the actual hardware, so can't say how close it is

It sounds great to me, definitely as nice as other recent Arturia Analog emulations. It sounds richer and fuller than the Cherry Audio version. But not sure which is more authentic to the hardware

If I didn't already have a ton of Analog Poly Emulations that also sound great I would be all over it, but I already do including multiple ones by Arturia, and I have the Cherry Audio emulation

Like all of the more recent Arturia Analog emulations, you would be hard pressed to tell in a mix it's not hardware, but I am sure some hardware zealots will crucify me for saying that

For fans of the hardware version, or Italo Disco this should be a no brainer

Really makes me wish Arturia would update the Matrix 12

But for me even getting this for free along with all of the other stuff in V Collection X don't see a reason to upgrade for $169

What an amazing time to be a Synth Based Musician with the absolute insane bounty of quality virtual instruments that recreate the classics

Yes to all this. I've got both the Cherry and Xils Lab emus. I have not much experience with the original hardware (I demo'ed it way back when and returned it to the music store after a couple weeks,) so I can't say which is closer (my gut tells me the Xils Lab, but I really can't say for certain.) And I've been hoping that Arturia would update the Matrix 12 for a while now. Between the fact that there aren't many (any?) other Matrix 12 emus and the fact that the tone on the plugin would absolutely kill if they would redo it, I really hope that's on their shortlist for updating.

And again you're so right: so much really great stuff around.

I’ve not tried it yet, but I listened to a couple of demos, and I have to say it was some of the most boring sounds I’ve heard in a while. Maybe they’re going for that Italo Disco vibe, which I think is garbage music for old coke heads. I’ll probably just wait until it’s in the V Collection and there’s something else new that I’m interested in, but V Collection X was a bust for me, and I have such a large collection of great emulations and actual analogs that there doesn’t feel like a big desire to check it out.

Have to say, after messing around with the demo more, I think many people are going to be thinking the same. I think if you really are into Italo Disco or you have some kind of nostalgia for the original hardware you would scoop it up, but if not and you already have a bunch of nice "analog" Synths either in plugin form or hardware you will just not be all that excited

I hope Arturia comes up with something better for V 11. Like some quirky digital things from the 1980s

I already have Xils Lab and cherry Audio. I think Arturia and Xils Lab sound better.
Cherry Audio GUI and workflow are the worst and you can't distinguish in wich Layer you are .
Arturia has the best workflow and also nice operators and modulators like pigments, but make it a bit confusing which modulation is used. In their last emulations you can combine the classic synth modulators with their advanced mods. The new arp is really nice and is missing on xils lab, so you can't program arturia presets into Xils Lab. On Xils Lab it's also very hard to distinguish wich layer is used, are they splitted, etc.... There is Arturia way more better.
I think if I buy it now - the update to Collections V 11 will be 150€ - on the other side i think $69 is too much, $49 was a cheap offer i can't resist. Now I am thinking nice Synth, but I already have so many nice synths. Do i need it now, or shall i wait a long time until V collection 11 will be on sale for $99. The last years i was an early adopter of V collection, because it was much cheaper if you have spliited the $199 update offer in 3 payments like 2 synths for $49 and the update for $99 or one synth for $49 and update for $149.

I think they try out how many would buy for 69 and if I buy now, all futur synth will increase from 49 to 69 - so I hope to resist to get the $49 offer back

The last two releases were 69eu each - makes me think the upgrade to v11 may be slightly higher, and if not then there is no point in getting single instruments and selling them later after getting v11. .. time for Augmented Sax (I guess :hihi: ) and another analog to join the las two :ud: ..

No, that's not correct. The last (synth) releases were also €49 (for me at least)! :hihi:
It was the first thing i checked as i saw this new intro price of €69 :?

There is something about the Elka Synthex filters that can sometimes sound like a cartoony "cat's meow" to me when they are sweeping with a little movement, and I find it really unique.

It is indeed interesting to see how different the three Elka modeled soft synths out there now have ended up sounding.

Which one is the most accurate? I kind of don't care haha. They sound good, this new Arturia offering being no exception.
