There's a sale right now - so I'm wondering: what's the deal with the "Prophecy" - is it actually really a Z1 in full glory and they just gave it the more popular name or not quite?

I just had a look at the manual - it's really just a polyphonic Prophecy - that's a real bummer - what a missed chance.

And lacks the dual waveshapers that Prophecy has. So it giveth some, and taketh some away.
As such I don't think the Prophecy plugin is a missed opportunity. It's a stepping stone instead, the way I see it.

Sounds EXACTLY the same to me based on some specific patches I used back in the day. I'm sure there are minor, minor differences due to DA conversion/analog components, but for all intents and purposes, it's basically spot on.

Huh, I didn't know that about the Z1! From my experience with the Prophecy, I feel like the dual waveshapers do a lot of heavy lifting for me when it comes to shaping and enhancing the Prophecy's sounds, especially the physical modelling stuff.EvilDragon wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:40 pm And lacks the dual waveshapers that Prophecy has. This means which patches are exclusive to Z1 and Prophecy? Why weren't Prophecy and Z1 released together?ChristopherWD wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 4:52 amHuh, I didn't know that about the Z1! Korg may own these companies but I am disappointed that Korg didn't emulate more of their own synths. Plus Arturia has already done these. I am sure the Arp 2600 will be a good emulation but if you already own Cherry Audio's version as well as the current Arturia collection this is a pretty disappointing update.

And i guess that is the thing.. You can't please everyone.
I personally am looking forward to this the most, more than any of their 'own' stuff.
And I don't think Arturia's old Arp 2600 or Cherry Audio will be able to compete with a Korg Arp 2600 2024 edition.
