I mean "program change " problem solved with this program.

Post

oh nice,
I created a bug that was a programming error,
seemed it broke it here for a little while

also-
it seemed broken because pitch shift buttons don't work with the note-off
I have optimized the note-off anyway

I can't make pitch shift work because 1 & B send no midi message,
oh well, please use the pitch shift edit box on ui for that, damn

maybe I can make the program change start at 1, would be little better

I'll up it again tonight

it's message 196, goes up to 0-127

pitch shift could be on another controller's buttons

here's one way to help with fret dots:-
fret dots mustang rock band.png
It's using electrician's tape

edit- as simple as this may seem, I'm still failing some.
the note on is lasting less than 1.5 secs
...bear with me

here's a Mustang build that seems pretty solid,
however the note offs on open are still nqr:-
(edited link out, please dl the current build in the first post of this thread)
cheers

-I'll up again soon with fixed sustain length on open when I get it

I got the Mustang open sustain length fixed,
it uses a timer that resets now
-instead of more simply a delay
more stuff can happen after the delay line is triggered, so that was that unbugged now

The Mustang needs no hardware mods either anymore,
since it sends velocity, we can filter all the open muffs out, by asking to only
trigger notes with velocity above say ~105
It's real clean now, very tidy to play
Various other parts have been re-jigged too,
to filter all unwanted triggers and simplify

each midi channel is just an integer at one point, note 0-127,
and 128 for all offs, so a very straightforward command

I'll up a v soon

-also the pitch buttons do send sysex, so I can make them work
I understand what RunBeer meant by packing the neck string termination
with papers, he meant cigarette papers.
This isn't needed any more here
I did heaps of hardware muting jiggery,
the velocity filter is enough though,
keeping note-on in hold mode as sensitive as possible, it isn't muted in any way
-only open is partially muted

Post

Thank you Nix for the great ideas of Midi processing. Eagerly waiting for your upload

Post

very nice to find this getting used!
I sent through the current builds in pm

I am filtering the fretboard velocities too now,
I don't know how hard you all pick, so I'll put these on sliders

Post

updated the release,
u can get it in the first post of this thread

I'd love it if u could test too RunBeer,
no need for paper towel any more I think
the fs v is 3484, if u need to mod it
I will be completing the build,
making the buttons work
-but it's usable now

how did your prior 2 Mustangs break RunBeer?
-or why r up to ur 3rd one?

Post

Ok I'll try the new version, I don't use Flowstone, only Synthmaker so I can't look at the source files. My old Mustang guitars didn't break, I just moved and didn't want to take them along so I eventually got another one.

Edit: I tried it, it works very well, the crosstalk problem didn't even come up. The velocity seems kind of like lessened, I'm not sure but it felt that way. Mono mode kind of mutes some fast notes but I didn't feel it was even necessary. Pretty good stuff though.

oh nice!

yes, there's no velocity, it's more machine-like,
but also consistent. I don't need velocity, humanisation is in it, as we play

please join Flowstone Discord if you like,
you are eligible
We can export VST3, floating windows etc.
let me know if you would like an invite

Happy to hear that they didn't malfunction
There is one for sale in Oz for A$140, free post
not too bad on the pocket,
if peeps aren't put off by the dinky plasticity of it
Necks and bodies are inter-changeable,
and there's no fret wear either

Yah mono means some notes won't register afaik,
maybe we need to play slower and deliberate
What happens is prior note is muted,
nature of the beast I'm afraid

Thanks for testing!! 8D

-I can implement velocity, but personally I don't need it,
there is none in slide mode anyway

That was pretty cool, what synth are you using it sounds original. Looks like you may want a guitar strap too! Thanks

Hi RunBeer! How're u doin?
-thanks!
It's ReFX Slayer.
I don't use a guitar strap because it's an encumbrance to me,
I feel freer without

I'll try getting the audio stream and syncing it next time,
all the picking noise isn't the best

Here's the Mustang:-

I like the high quality sound, it sounds like the 192khz that I use in Reaper. As soon as they bring back vst2 and refx slayer maybe it will be popular again and used in music.

I'm confident the old vst2 will be the lasting one. Thanks for posting
