mCompare Missing File Window

I've been using mCompare for many years without issue. Now suddenly when I click the magnifying glass to select a file to compare, nothing happens. If I try to click anywhere else it makes a beep like there's an active file browser window somewhere, but nothing happens. I tried restarting, reinstalling, switching to VST, and always the same. I'm using Reaper on a Mac Book Pro with OS 14.1 , any suggestions?
