Do you mean wetting your finger and circling the top or clinking them or...?
Synth or sample?
Maybe not useful but i have tried sampling a crystal bowl and had mediocre results. If you mean synthesizing then the book Designing Sound by Andy Farnell has great info on analyzing sounds.
