Generation elec gtr strum sequencer question

When i use the strum secuencer in Generation Electric Guitar, and change the chord while the pattern is playing, the pattern will restart instead of continue where it was before i switched chords.

Is there any way to change this?

Edit: I figured it out, it was the latch button not being on
