Hi, In practice, different percussion notations are used. Does anyone know any link to the page with the most popular notation?

I found a book on the web about the standard of percussion notation:

What do you think about it? I am asking because I would like to study how to write and read percussion notes correctly (and I know a lot of drummers have their own way of writing notes).

I'm pretty sure that's a good starting point. Seems to cover everything you'd need to staff from the percussion section. As far as I know, the 'standard kit stuff' likes kicks/snares/hats/toms don't tend to be different from score to score.. the pertinent bit of that document is:

"There is really no right or wrong as long as the notator provides a legend defining the meaning of each line of the staff, and the significance pf the different noteheads and symbols."

Look at a few other drums scores, if you can, to compare notes but I think, in general, if you're writing for a drummer to read along with, as long as you have a legend, and don't deviate too much from how that document describes flams etc.. you should be ok. In your position, if I knew the drummer, I'd probably try to find out their preferred layout.

Ok., thank you.

Yes the pdf is pretty good. Some noteheads might vary depending on who writes the score. I use a different symbol for ride cymbal, crosstick.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!
