I use these and I'm very satisfied. I would say it's a good deal, as I think I paid around 700$ (or maybe even more?) 2 years ago. But of course you should really listen to and compare monitors before you buy.

i paid $900 CDN new for mine, and have been *extremely* happy with them, in fact I'd buy another set at the price you've quoted, it's an excellent price on a top-notch monitor!

I use them too. They're good. A bit bass-lite, but crisp and clear, with great stereo imaging.

I have the passives and am very pleased with them. I've had them for something like 5 years now, excellent budget monitor.
