Can't get the VCommander to work as expected

I'm not a newbie and have been using Cubase for more the 20 years.
I have a Virus C, Cubase 11, and Bome Midi Translator Pro.
Sometimes the VCommander connects and works, sometimes I get the "output is used" message - although I've not changed the configuration to the best of my knowledge.
I'm probably missing a very basic thing, but can't seem to solve this.

This has been going on for weeks now, and I would really appreciate some patient assistance with this.

Just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jorg from Solar3d for helping me out!
Spent 90 minutes with me - remote accessing my system to sort things out as well as to offer an overview of the VCommander.
