Hi. We I doubt that we will change chipcrusher to go below 1kHz, (especially as low as 1Hz) as this will just sound like a bunch of DC offset pops, at the rate of one per second.

Cheers

Charlie Firpo wrote: Sat Sep 28, 2019 12:40 pm David, pwrrleEaeAeeese (im doing my best Roger Rabbit impression here) let the C64 be your next release. I'm so waiting for that one. I know that the nes has a big following, but i'm waiting (really.. checking everyday on your twitter) to see some news about the 64
Its not going anywhere and I'm quite happy with its sound quality. We just need to polish it and tweak some features. But seems SNES (chipsynth SFC) is more requested for the next one.
SNES and C64 in 2020 PLEASE!!!!!! :D

As much as I love and apprechiate your work and the sound of your plugins...

...I think just another chiptune-synth from another console doesn´t bring much new options - for me as a musician - onto the palette. I really think it´s time to program a new and own designed super-synth using all the knowledge of all the FM-chips. And just build that 8 OP FM-Synth every FM-freak is dreaming of. So to say that super-FM synth with its own signature-sounds found nowhere else with a modulation matrix which puts other synth developer into a state of shock.

David, is there a chance something like this may happen some day? Would be worth a big celebration...

I would be really happy with a SuperPortaFM.

Might not have a Super, but we have a few good update plans for PortaFM.

Maybe at one point, but we have 6 synths on various stages to release before.

Without exagération, I am very excited. I’ve created some incredibly lush sounds using PortaFM. Any expansion will be very appreciated.

Would prefer the NES

Any time frame on the SFC? Been using and abusing chipsynth MD and PortaFM on the project I‘m currently working on. These are easily my favorite softsynths! (esp PortaFM)

4 layers would be awesome, but 6 layers going to be super :)

From the information gathered, 4 are going to be the SFC, C64, FC and DX1. Any hints for the other 2?

This is awesome news for me. And thank you too for listening and even thinking about a super FM synth maybe sine day :)
You are great over at Plougue. Have a fine week.

in some sense chipsynth MD already is that 8-OP beast, with two stackable 4-OP patches, solid modulation capabilities (randomising the multi parameter on a modulator is a lot of fun...), 12-bit DAC option for a clean sound... and a lot more besides that take it beyond just a straight up YM2612 emulation. I love this thing. Marie Kondo would definitely tell me to keep it installed.

anyway, this might be a personal weakness/limitation, but I find getting a usable FM sound is usually about picking different FM pairs for different jobs and layering (with the occasional 3-stack if I'm feeling spicy), with more than 4-6 operators things start to feel messy/redundant and I start to think about other tools. I don't begrudge anyone for wanting an FM synth with a gazillion operators, though, and it would be cool to see what people might do with it.
