I thought i dont need The Legend when it got released despite having Monark and Diva (i also use more often the legend then those 2), but because of how easy its on CPU and how great it sounds + ability to use as FX Filter i got it. Few weeks ago i played with Moog One and to my surprise the sound was quite similar. I suppose its that moog sound.
Because of this and Dune 3 expierience (minus the browser, sorry not sorry it just sucks) im genuinly intersted in OBX emulation.

Does Dune support microtuning?
The Scala page indicates it does: http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/scl_format.html
Orion Platinum, Orion and Dune (Synapse Audio Software) (max. 12 tones)
But I can't find anything else about it neither online or in the manual..

Dune 3 does not support Microtuning. It has been requested in the past so who knows what the future holds.

Ive seen alot of people are mentioning Microtuning. Where you are actually going to use such feature? why is it needed?

Why are built-in effects needed? Why are analog modelled filters needed? Why isn't there just 1 oscillator + an amp and filter envelope? Who even needs audio-rate modulation anyway?Elektronisch wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:15 am Ive seen alot of people are mentioning Microtuning. I obviously can't speak for others, but I personally use different tunings relatively often.

to make sound obviously...tunings, why? so you are using, tell me in which cases you would need something else then 440hz tuning and its not ment to offend or anything.loungepanda wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:00 amWhy are built-in effects needed? You need micro tuning if you're playing anything else than Western contemporary music which is based on equal temperament – such as Thai, Arabian, Indonesian, Indian…
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

With Microtuning even Western music can sound better, blend better and actually reduce the need for EQ (if we use some kind of Just intonation). There exist also many other non-JI tunings that offer different compromises than 12 Equal, but are compatible with 12 tone keyboards (basically "12 equal" is a family of different scales on its own in bigger temperaments, just like 7 equal in 12 equal can be represented by any of the diatonic modes, melodic minor modes, neapolitan modes and other, more uneven scales - all these can be reduced to deformations of 7 equal).Elektronisch wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:15 am Ive seen alot of people are mentioning Microtuning. Yes, even in Western Music. In real instruments, they use it in Piano tuning.

Ah ok, i had no idea different culture music has different tunings. I always thought the scales whats make the sound that sounds like that and i was able to work on that just with regular tuning.Spitfire31 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:11 am You need micro tuning if you're playing anything else than Western contemporary music which is based on equal temperament – such as Thai, Arabian, Indonesian, Indian…
