Hey. I would like to hear some of your music. Hopefully you don't use any distorted instruments over drum loops.

Everyone is talking about a new GUI, but no one posted any pictures? Even the Reaper website doesn't have any clear shots of the GUI apart from the homepage image which is at a weird angle.

Kenny G takes you though the new theme design. I think it looks much better.

FYI you're feeding a troll.

Progressive Rock and Metal can be as complexly written as Classical and Jazz. Not even an argument that it can be the most complicated to play and technically challenging music outside those genres. Whether you like the music or not has nothing to do with it's talent level, only a troll would attempt to go there, among other places that person went.

It's usually a good idea to have some idea of what is going on with a few things in life...

There's no point blaming the manufacturer if you were staring down the barrel of a loaded gun when you pulled the trigger

Talking about the GUI, here's a random Reaper pic from Reddit where someone asked a question about the Izotope plugin in this picture:

The Reaper UI is very good looking compared to the Izotope plugin and the UAD 2 meter.

that Izotope plugin has an awful gui - unnecessarily hard to read - but looks are just one component of UX design (other aspects of the Izotope delay are very good for example) although a lot of people seem to struggle with understanding that. Issues with Reaper are not just about the aesthetics, they are about the entire user experience.

The quote comes from an other topic.

So the usability improvements in reaper have to come through the efforts of the reaper community.

I like Reaper and the ui doesn't bother me one bit. How about you?

Good question. Honestly, I doubt that there are tons of users who used to make music professionally in FL, Cubase, Logic or Ableton, who switched to Reaper because they like the workflow better. I can imagine that maybe some mixing and mastering engineers like to explore Reapers wealth of functionality, but especially for modern producers that like to work using virtual instruments, Reaper does not offer any real advantage and actually makes music creation more difficult (more costly, because you have to spend more of your professional time figuring basic functions out that would be self-explanatory or intuitive in well-designed DAWs).
Man, I just have to say, you have no idea what you're talking about and you're just wrong.

I've set the workflow in reaper to be the best (for me) of FL studio, Ableton, and Studio one, and it is by far the most unhindered my productivity/creativity has been regarding midi and vsti heavy music composition.

Really think you are off base here.

Sounds great. Would love to see that workflow in action. Would you share your settings / theme etc?

Don't feed the troll.

Interesting: While most DAW-updates stealthily increase their CPU-hunger for
their additional frippery, Reaper 6 now takes less CPU than the previous version:
For around 60 tracks the saving is around 8-9%.

For big and complex projects this can be a decisive difference. :tu:

I really love this DAW (reaper 6) Justin brilliant programmer- but the default 6 theme is horror :x :x :x :x
It is absolutely not adapted for laptop screens - all elements look terrible, bulky, there is no negative scaling.

These windows, gradients, shadows of button, shapes - ala "shit analog devices"
are you guys laughing? we live in 2020 - and the design of 6 theme is drawn as in the beginning of 2000 :? :? :? :?

Justin - please find a normal GUI designer please
