I use NoteMapper (with donation) to convert NI Drummer series grooves into notes compatible with Battery. I will definitely be trying out the other codefn42 plugins.

Tried installing the demo on both Mac and PC. The standalone app requires routing MIDI into and out of it, and its documentation doesn't give much instruction on this beyond "route MIDI in and out of it." I'm not yet an expert on setting up MIDI routing outside of a DAW, so I'm still trying to figure out how to route MIDI to it in a way that is actually recognized. Might be interesting if I can ever sort out getting it to work, but they could really use to mention "some assembly required" and have a dedicated section in their manual on how to set up the routing.Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 5:28 am How about Arpado

Hi
I am the lead engineer at Arpado Software.
Arpado is a standalone app and can be used right away with your MIDI devices. Routing is not required unless you want to record the MIDI notes right within your DAW which is something that's out of scope of its current documentation, although there are a few mentions on Loopmidi (Windows) and IAC Driver (Mac) which let you go this way.
You can still open Arpado and record MIDI live (Pro version) which can the be imported into your DAW (multitrack support) or record the sound of your devices as well.
The VST version is close to be released, that will let you place Arpado inside your DAW. I suggest you subscribe to the newsletter at the website to receive the news.
For other concerns, please post your comments at https://forum.arpado.site
Best regards,
Nicolas

Thanks for participating but I was hoping we would stay in the midi domain in this thread.
Well unless I missed the midi component in the plugins you mentioned. Let me know if so.

I must say I did not really get the use of Arpado. I have not tried, only looked for description, but it seems you cant input/construct/paint chords/chordprogressions so you need another app or midi keyboard for the chord input and then arpado does what ? Just a complex arpeggiator/sequencer ? I really dont get it from the description maybe cause it really looks confusing and seems to have completely different workflow.

I don't know all of these (and I'm definitely checking them out:), but those I do, are Kontakt libraries with extra deep and/or unusual MIDI scripts that definitely count as MIDI FX, at least in my world:)Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 5:57 am ^^^

Kalamata & everyone, I updated my lists so it clearly separates all the stuff that may not be midi per se, you can just skip it all if it’s not of interest. Hope that helps.

I only just came across: https://www.pentacom.jp/pentacom/arpg8r/
It's been mentioned on KVR before, but it's a really nice little arpeggiator and good value.

Thanks for your reply. Most of my MIDI work is done in the DAW, and I guess that I made some assumptions about getting MIDI routed from my DAW to Arpado and back again that were incorrect. I will dig up my MIDI keyboard and see if that works better as a MIDI input.arpado wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 11:37 am Hi

That being said, I think I will be much more interested when the VST version arrives and I can use it with the MIDI routing in my DAW.
