LEGENDARY SOUND
The star of this bass is its tone. We picked the finest p-bass we could find and had Tony Dickinson (of Trans-Siberian Orchestra fame) perform it through a high-end Avalon DI box. Combined with the flatwound strings and passive pickup, it just sounds incredibly detailed and rich. Of course, you can also amp it up to give it edge & bite.
We've included a wide range of tone snapshots using the included Console FX rack and mixer so even if you're not a tone expert, you have lots of inspirational options besides the lovely DI/clean sound.
COMPLETE ARTICULATIONS
We went all out with S3 Precision and recorded ALL the key bass playing techniques: fingered, picked, and slapped sustains, hammer/pull off (fingered + slapped versions!), slides, taps, staccatos, mutes, pops, buzz trills, and harmonics.
Between all these techniques, you can write or perform just about any kind of bass part imaginable: super funky and fast slaps, introspective tapped solos, hard-rock picked riffs, or whatever else you want.
Plus, with the included TACT tab, you can map these articulations however you want: keyswitches (the default), velocity, key range, CC, etc. You can also adjust articulation details like envelopes, sample offset, and velocity -> volume sensitivity, giving you complete control over the 'touch' of the instrument.
