11th track from my upcoming CD "The Cool Cat In The Wind"

One more track to go and this CD will be done. The last track is going to be a kind of epic prog/jazz piece Wagtunes style. Should be fun.

This track has a bit of giddy-up to it. Would love to hear a good band and singer do this one. I think it would be one of my better tracks done properly by somebody with talent.

Lollapalooza

You're quite a sight gal
But you sure ain't my pal
No way
Day's getting hazy
And you drive me crazy
All day

I ain't no loser
No way I would choose yuh
Cause you're quite a dooze uh
Wish I could lose yuh
Paying my dues uh
Searching for clues uh
This may not come as news uh
You're a lollapalooza

All of these years girl
You jumbled my world
So bad
Turned me inside out
Maddening there's no doubt
So sad

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental Break

"Livin' In the Big House" has a nice melody and chord progression. I think you have a natural affinity for brass. Nice job!

Thanks Frantz. Yeah, growing up on Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire and Tower Of Power sure helped. Some of my favorite stuff as a kid. Just waited for the right library to do it justice. Warp IV is a killer one.

12th, title and final track from my upcoming CD "The Cool Cat In The Wind"

I pulled out all the stops on this one. This is in 9/8, 7/4, 5/4 and 4/4 time. It's kind of a jazzy prog piece. A lot of this was played live but then heavily modified as far as note events. No way I can actually play this in its entirety.

Anyway, here it is. My next project is going to be a wild one. Look for the thread in the production tips sub forum. I'm going to need major help with it.

The Cool Cat In The Wind

Sittin' back
Drinkin' my wine
Being with you
Everything is fine

Turn on the tube
Take in a flick
Diggin' the sound
Man that beat is sick

What more could I want
Got my girl next to me
All the love that I have
It's so plain to see
I'm the cool cat in the wind

So I now sing my song
I'll try not to make it too long

Repeat Chorus

I'm the cool cat in the wind

Have not been able to post some of the songs I've done of late because they're for the band and I have an NDA. This one is for my own personal use. Kind of a slow, goofy, jazzy tune.

We Are Not Alone

Did you ever get the feeling
That something's watching you
Well you may not believe this
But your suspicions are true

We are not alone
No we are not alone
We are not alone
No we are not alone

I think they've got four eyes
And a big green nose
And they're covered with hair
From their head to their toes

Repeat Chorus

There's no escaping from their gaze
They'll catch you even through the haze
Beware collection day is near
There's plenty for you to fear
So pack your things salute their kings
And do not shed a tear

One thing you can count on
They'll treat you very well
And make your journey short
As you make your way to hell

Repeat Chorus

1st track from my upcoming CD "Queen For A Day"

Went for Queen and ended up with ELO.

Crimes Of The Heart

Another long day so it begins (Get up, get up, get up)
There's just no way that I can win (Enough, enough, enough)
She's got me twisted inside (And I'm losing my mind)
There's just no place I can hide (A life so unkind)

Crimes of the heart got me a prisoner (And I can't get out)
Crimes of the heart can't get away from her (No matter how much I shout)
I just wish I could break these chains
And get back to where we were (were)
Crimes of the heart got me a prisoner
Crimes of the heart sentenced to life in love (with no parole)
Crimes of the heart sentenced from up above (lord we know)
I just wish I could get away
To love another day (day)
Crimes of the heart got me a prisoner

I took a listen to "We Are Not Alone". I don't know what you were going for but I got some Beatles-ish vibes; it has that dreamlike trippy quality to it. The lyrics creep me out too so well done :D. I thought it was great overall, the only thing I noticed is that there were some sharp s-sounds at times. Nothing some de-essing won't fix!

Kind of like a Beatles and Daft Punk collab :) I liked it. Your stuff always gets stuck in my head.

2nd track from my upcoming CD "Queen For A Day"

Queen meets Sparks.

Duck Soup

Here we are in dutch again
The curtain's bought to close
All have come to say amen
The emperor has no clothes

Give a little bit to the tart and the twit
The showgirls they all get in line
Birds and the bees and the monkeys in trees
Everyone here is doing fine

Here we are the twins of woe
The show's about to end
At the door are friends and foes
Regards they all do send

Have a little drink as we hide in the sink
The showgirls have walked out the door
Time it will tell if we end up in hell
Either way I'll come here no more

This is the final showdown
This is what it comes to
Be prepared for the hoedown
As we end up in duck soup

In the soup
In the soup
In the soup we go
I hope that you can swim
It's a mystery
Wondering if we
Can get out of this mess we're in
In the soup
In the soup
In the soup we go
I hope you don't get wet
We can speculate
What will be our fate
It's anybody's bet

You're certainly a prolific writer, and some good stuff in there too.
I'm a big fan of ELO, I think Jeff Lynne is the most underrated songwriter of all time.
A big 'like' for Crimes of the Heart, and Duck Soup was good too; especially liked the chorus effect on "In the soup we go"
I've got a song in the oven right now and I've got to write some lyrics over which I am procrastinating. Maybe you could transfer some of your lyric-writing skill to me somehow!

Lyric writing skill? You must have me confused with somebody else. Lyrics have been the one thing that have held me back from making it in the business. At least so all the publishers I've dealt with say.

As for Jeff Lynne, yeah, I pretty much agree with you. His stuff is catchy as hell. I'm sure Paul McCartney wishes he wrote "Wild West Hero."

Anyway, thanks for the listen and the feedback.
