Well, I find most people tend to just argue about this vs just embrace the fact for which it is, so, I'll put this here where maybe someone can appreciate the simplicity of the tip. (though he DOES like to talk forever instead of getting to the point

I´ve worked long and hard making these thingies so I hope they will be of use.

hey ya all,

just an FYI you can get a free version of TH3 at the moment (until August 14th)! It has a limited selection of amps & pedals, but no other demo restrictions (noise, timeout, etc)!! And the selection of things that you do get is pretty generous: classic Fender, Marshall and Mesa Boogie amps; great pedals like a Tube Screamer, Reverb etc and a good selection of cabinets and mics! Really curious about your opinions on this with regard to other amp sims out there! Check it out here:

Cool how he uses a frequency converter to always get 234VAC 50Hz on his AC30 all over the world. Anode voltages are not stabilized in tube amps, so you need a controlled input to know what you get i sound and the right sag as well.

Curious as to thoughts between getting Helix and using Sgear and Amplitube and other vsts. Will I like a Helix? I have lots of vsts

Compared to S-Gear, Helix is massively more complex and offers far more options. However, I haven't heard anything from Helix that makes it a "must buy" for me. If you're curious though, there's a demo of Helix Native--so you can download it and find out for yourself.

I had a helix (new) and sold it after two weeks. It lacked that magic fairy dust that valve amps have. This was when it was first released so firmware upgrades may have improved it.
I do have a fractal audio axe fx iii. bought that in october of last year. It left the helix in the shade, the axe fx is staying (it cost about twice as much as the helix and the dedicated foot controller for the axe fx has only just been released. It’ll be a few months yet before I’ll get access to one.

Hi!
I had Helix LT for a 2-3 years. Since I bought it, I used it exclusively and extencively (live and in studio). It takes time to understand what you want to hear from it and to get it. Firmware update improves sound, good 3rd parties IR`s can help to achieve your goal. After I learn how to tweak it I could get a good and pleasant sounds from it for a venue, for studio, etc. Absolutely positive experience. But recently I sold Helix and using Fractal Audio AX8. There is one thing - they both could sound good (or not so good), but Fractal gives me a feeling of a real amp smashing sound into face, even when I`m using IEM. But the actual difference in a sound of two is not so dramatic.
