Hello all.
Can someone explain to me, what exactly a dynamik EQ is.

Is it something like a multiband limmiter.
Thanks

It's an eq with rules to it. Think of it as a spot-treatment compressor. For instance, instead of adding a permanent cut to a frequency, you can give it rules so the cut only comes in after a certain threshold. This means that you can add the cut only if the frequencies get out of hand.
This is helpful in a few situations, like a deesser. You could cut 4.5khz if that frequency is harsh, but you don't have to cut it during the entire vocal performance, just set a threshold so that it cuts when the vocal recording gets harsh. Other typical uses: targeted ducking, controlling resonances or buildups.

Yeah these “rules” allow you to be more selective of how much the eq affects the sound and when. Is it only louder parts, or maybe the softer a particular band of frequencies get, the more they get boosted.jochicago wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 11:00 am It's an eq with rules to it. It has a threshold of volume and reduces the volume by the given settings which you select, something like a compressor, by band.
