I can answer for the Drift Pack: It does not have module presets, since I didn't think those would make much sense for modules like this (maybe I'll come up with something later). But, you can download full VM presets that showcase the modules in action! The link is on the product page in VM store.

...and a CPU penalty to match it. I believe the main difference is in oversampling, that - AFAIK - VM doesn't do. It would actually be a good idea for VM devs to perhaps add an option to enable oversampling if someone just wants to bounce the patch (or has a CPU power to spare)?

I would surely welcome quality settings with an added HQ mode. Than everybody can decide on their own what quality and cpu hit they are comfortable with.antic604 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:52 am...and a CPU penalty to match it. Just installed the freebie, looks good, none of the modules will download though. Anyone else having problems?
Maybe their server is getting hammered.
I'll try again tomorrow.
EDIT: Now it's working.

Do I really want to go down this rabbit hole? Why am I even asking you guys? It is like asking my Shelties if I really want to make some bacon or open a package of cheese.
What does VM offer that is not offered by Reaktor and Softube Modular? What makes it unique?

We're celebrating Voltage Modular's one-year anniversary by offering some amazing deals, slashing prices by 50% or more on Cherry Audio products, and many of our 3rd-party module manufacturers have joined in to offer some incredible offers. You can read about these fantastic offers here: https://cherryaudio.com/year-one-celebration. These offers end August 31st, so hurry!
Our most exciting offer of all is the new Voltage Modular Nucleus package. Nucleus contains 22 modules and is 100% completely FREE until the end of August! There's never been a better way to learn about modular synthesis and to explore sound creation, and it won't cost you a dime.
Our Nucleus offer has gone viral, so we're adding over 40 new presets to the Nucleus package to show off what can be done with this fantastic collection of modules. The next time you run Voltage Modular, these new presets will be automatically downloaded into your software. Check out some of our favorite new presets: Funeral for a Pal, Throbbing Bass, Mirror Echo Horrors!, Ghost Lullaby, and dozens more. (If you own Ignite or Core, these presets are being added to your library as well!)
If you're new to modular synthesis, the folks at Computer Music Magazine have created a short tutorial video and article to get you up and patching with Nucleus: https://www.musicradar.com/how-to/how-t ... ge-modular. For a deeper dive into modular synthesis, Venus Theory has created this fantastic new tutorial video on the fundamentals of patching with Voltage Modular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ5i-AtvYj0.
Cherry Audio also has some great tutorial videos to get you started. These entertaining and in-depth videos are a fantastic tool for learning how to patch modules, and use envelopes and LFOs, to create fantastic sounds with Voltage Modular:

Don't have Softube, but LOVE Reaktor, and Reason, and VCV, and MSF/MXXX, and… here's MORE of that kinda good stuff, at the right price; reason enough for me:)
(Am I in this game to see how FEW cool tools I can get away with? NO. I'm in it as much to keep track of whatever ELSE today's amazing music'n'sound tool makers can come up with, as to enjoy using them.)

I was so impressed with the freebie.. I immediately dropped $65 bucks to pick up both the Voltage Modular Core + Electro Drums and The Drift Pack bundles (both on sale for $50 and $15 respectively). Which gave me nearly 100 more modules over the starter freebies.
And, I'm really proud of myself for figuring out how to patch a mono legato glide. Nothing is terribly obvious with a modular setup like this.. but that was particularly tricky (for me anyways).
I think I'm good on modules for a while.. at least, that's what I'll keep trying to tell myself.
ooOo... a TB Filter & OSC. hmmm...
