What's so special about this bpm,i've tried many other from 120 till 170 and nothing sound so natural like 128bpm when it comes to dance music.
What's the magic with this number/speed?

Post

This is a typical heart rate of people dancing.

it's not 128, not a magick number

It is 137 bpm!

Reason: This IS a magic number, because it is the inverse of the
fine-structure constant, a dimensionless constant, which is the
same everywhere in this universe, and without dimension or unit! 8)

I think it's subjective. Personally, I never liked 128 bpm. I'm most confortable with the 126 and 124 mark. Whenever I start something at 128 bpm, I soon discover it's too fast and end up droping it to 124.

Of course, it depends on the music style. If you're doing, say, Gabber, 128 bpm most likely won't fit it.

Is it because the sum of Euler's totient function φ(x) over the first twenty integers is 128?
