What is this?

It's a new module in MSF which you can use to generate/combine custom modulations and apply them whichever way you see fit! Have a look under building blocks, it's called GenerateCustomMod. Send anything into it, say multiple LFOs, oscillators, noise,etc... then in the "select modulation source" tab (when modulating a parameter) you'll see under "special" custom 1,2,3,4 as sources, and of course you may use "custom" to modulate anything you want.! I think it's great and the possibilities endless! I hope it helps.

This is really a great new addon...and I bow my head to Melda... Hail to the Melda :hail:
Not only for the feature itself, but for how fast it got there. I placed the FR on 09.06. in the forum and just a week later it was available: viewtopic.php?f=138&t=526608
That is just hilarious incredible! Hope my FR about S&H will get implemented as well... ;-)

Anyway - for me a good plugin vendor listens to the community is responsive and fast. Melda is good example in that categoy, and that's why I didn't hesitate to buy MSF!
Another Dev which is really a league of his own with respect to community responsiveness is Mr "Fathom Synth" by the way.

That said - I encourage you to place your feature request in the forum and help MSF grow!

It's actually as if you use a cable in a "more standard" modular environment: You can use any signal path and patch a cord to any target you like...Use it for AM, use it for PM, use it for any weirdness you like.
Fun is when you use a short sample, load it into a Oscillator, route that into GenCMod and modulate the frequency of another Oscillator...anyway it's uncountable possibilities. Have fun.

Please use only if you like industrial like sounds...Three oscillators with different wave forms, that play in turn controlled by kind of a seqeunce (actually 3 lfos which are setup in steps mode). all three go in to a mixer, the mixer output is used to FM a 4 oscillator...

I actually found the LFOs modulating the mixer channels most interesting (since modding mixers was the very first thing I explored with MSF, still at that!), but learned a lot, such as how each GenCMod is set to whichever of the 4 Customs selections with the Channel settings inside each, and can thus be mixed in another way; hadn't spotted that before.

So, I gather it's the target that determines the sort of M-ing the GenCM is doing, eg. to Pitch, it's FM, to Vol it's AM…right? Or is there more to these terms than simply that? Other targets associated with other names?
