MPE?

Post

What's that?

Post

Ok, found it. Googling MPE only shows me some local political stuff... So I googled MPE VST and found this:

I don't know if it will support, we will see, is not on the priority list. ;-)

Cheers

Any vst instrument builder should know it, its part of a new midi spec allowing expressive playing with controllers like LinnStrument, Roli Seaboard or a Continuum. Keyboards are from a boring past...
Basically you route controller values based on Midi channels to your synth voices... For me its the core feature required to buy a VSTi... (Its just too much fun to play expressive)

 I will keep that in mind, and with time even update my other stuff.

$79 seems a little expensive unless of course you make a kick ass Wavetable Synth.
For example VAPORIZER2 from https://www.vast-dynamics.com/?q=products is currently priced at $39.90
It has a built in Wavetable editor as well a ton a very cool features.

Hopefully you will understand why I think you are being slightly unrealistic in your pricing.

It's actually Free, if you read the whole thing. And in the worse case around 9 bucks

Both kind of true :hihi:

As it seems to be common these days: the regular prizes are (if at all...) kind of only existing shortly or as announcement only...

I cant say that I am really happy with it even if it can save you lots of money but sometimes it makes you worry more about prizes and deals and how much you can save then about the products.

For the devellopers (thinks deep in his heart William will agree even it its not "promotive") it must be a real pain these days...

But this deal is real, I bought and got Wusik One for around 10 bucks in the actual deal with 80 % off, this INCLUDES Wusik 8008, the upcoming Wusik ZR and another upcoming looper....

If I be honest to myself I feel a shame, this stands in no relation to the work and engagement going into this. Of course lots of work (like the soundbase which is the same for all plugs) has already been done long ago and could be reused but still for one person thats unbelievable.

And to the Vaporizer: I started two times downloading the demo, first time dont work at all, second time I was not really impressed so I am looking forward to the ZR. What you have to bear in mind: here is a decade (if not more) of develloping behind this thing while I am not sure where Vaporizer will be in a year. Maybe it will really kickoff like the marvellous Fathom which reaches highs with evry new update or be just gone, who knows, in the end it is personal taste and with these prizes is more a kind of "which devellopment I would like to support", even it thats a sad statement.....

Sorry but that isn't quite true is it?
Your final price says $79.95
The worst case scenario is therefore $79.95 as stated on your own product page.
I am not a huge fan of getting a special deal that revolves around being forced into purchasing other products, a bit snake oily for my taste.

Good luck but for reasons stated above I'll pass.

Good. MPE is over hyped anyway. :clown: And you can only use it with dedicated controllers

Purchased Wusik X42.

William, you're not gonna believe this, but just a couple days ago I was looking for a good alternative to jBridge, but I couldn't find one. Then today I randomly saw this post where you referenced exactly what I was looking for! I think if you added "Format Adapter" and/or "32-bit to 64-bit Adapter" tags (same as jBridge) to the KVR listing, others might find it more easily. Just a tip!

Btw...
"http://wwww." appears to be insecure, whereas changing it to "https://www." shows the page as being secure.

You're my hero, William!

And I'm always glad to give you my money.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, you can get most of what those controllers have to offer without MPE. That said, coding an instrument with that in mind - the 5 dimensions of touch and a way to utilise them with a VSTi, would be very handy. Velocity and aftertouch take care of Strike and Press, Glide and Slide can take the place of Mod Wheel and Pitch Bend assignments, which only leaves Lift, which is release velocity. It's easy enough to set up manually but a single button or options in a mod matrix would make it even easier.

Seriously, I have three MPE controllers but only one MPE-enabled synth and I have no shortage of things to play on them. The use-case for MPE is really quite small. e.g. If you want to hold a chord with your left hand while you pitch bend a lead line with your right. Previously you'd have used two instances of the VSTi with a keyboard split, now you can take up all 16 MIDI channels and do it with a single instance and a very expensive controller. I love my 5D touch but I don't use MPE at all.

To be fair, Tj has a Linnstrument, which may be less useful without MPE, but Roli controllers are still fantastic without it.
