Maschine for Ambient/Drone?

Hi Everyone,
The discussion in another thread concerning the best DAW for quick inspiration has led me to consider getting into Maschine. I am primarily interested in ambient/drone music, along with acoustic drum (rock/alternative) patterns. Is this something that I could use Maschine for? If so, does the Maschine Jam have all of the features of Maschine Mikro - specifically, the keyboard and one button chord/chord progression features?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

It's very pattern focussed, I tried recording a lengthy piece and after a few bars it started looping it - doesn't allow you to record unlimited sequences. Also without aftertouch I would find it lacking in terms of recording subtle expression.

Yes. Maschine will/could do that music. You need very very long patterns and scenes so that you have flexibility. You don't want micro manage little 4 bar chunks
