Sound is random only when viper play in daw. When You render to the file, sound is completely different - not random with every midi note. This is no normal.

I see problem with random function when sound is rendering.

Unfortunately I still dont understand. Please PM me a video I need to see what you are doing

I think he means sound is no more random when he listens to the file he has exported, aka static...
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

Adam, message was sent.

Is Viper now at feature parity with the Virus.

Yes and No. Can The Virus load your own waveforms? No. Viper Can. However Viper does not yet have a wavetable oscillator, but it is planned in a future update. Viper has a resizable gui, Virus does not. So Viper has some features the Virus does not and vice versa.

Hi Adam, I must ask you a question regarding the frequency shifter. I'm working on a new soundbank and on some leads, I'd like to have the frequency shifter on them, to give them an oldschool vibe. The issue is the filter frequency shifters resets itself back to normal, if I either press stop in FL Studio or enable another Viper effect. I made a video for you so you can see what I mean: https://youtu.be/jFbYaKZmMn4

Is it supposed to work like this or is it a bug? If the former, then I guess I will have to find another idea to work with. I have the preset saved if you want to have a look on it.

Post

maybe it is an fl studio problem can you share the preset `?
i would test in Bitwig and Reason

Post

Sure. Preset & midi file included: https://www.mediafire.com/file/lo9pzn46 ... r.zip/file
Edit: I also noticed if I adjust the frequency shifter and then switch preset and then switch back, it will reset itself again also.

Edit 2: I tested it in Reaper. It won't reset itself in Reaper if I press stop. But it will reset
if I switch preset back and forth. If I enable effects (even if they are on 0 mix level), the frequency shifter will continue to change itself in Reaper as well.

Ok I tested it and I know whats happening. Inside the Frequency Shifter, there is a built in LFO with a ramp, its needed for some calculations. Thats what you hear when you turn the frequency knob, and the ramp inside the lfo is constantly going from 0-1. When you move the freq to 0, the ramp will stop moving, but it stops at some random point and thats why its the dry and wet signal is causing some pleasant frequency cancellations you like to hear. Its actually a bug, because in the Virus, this ramp will go back to its initial position when the freq knob is on 0 (the phase cancellation you dont like), and I didnt notice this until now.

In Viper, when you press stop twice in FL Studio, it clears the memory (so you can stop long reverbs, or delays), which is great, but that means is also clears the Frequency Shifter ramp position and it will want to start from 0, and thats the cancellation you do not like.

What you can do is to use a dry noise wave and put the filter effect on that and find the frequency cancellation you like, then use a spectrum analyser to see where they are, then use the phaser to create similar cancellation instead. You can move the mod and rate to 0 and use the freq knob to create a static phase cencellation.

I see, thanks for the detailed response. I will try out what you suggested and experiment with that.
